I just ran across this site a while back. Is this credible? This guy apparently has a week left to go until he is executed and the killer is someone else who was given a life sentence since the conviction.

Thoughts? With Rick Perry on the campaign trial, it seems this guy's life could be saved if the story checks out.

Wow.

Is this for real?

If so, it needs to be viral now. The man's life is almost over.

Just one of many likely innocent men who will go into the execution chamber. You can bet that Perry will do nothing about this because the average GOP voter still salivates over the idea of bad guys being murdered by state sanction.

There's another guilty guy who is to be executed on September 15th. During his sentencing, an expert testified and said that the jury should put him to death because blacks are more likely to commit crimes in the future. The testimony should have been ruled inadmissible but it wasn't, so it appears that a man is going to die in part because he is black. Senator Cornyn (then the state AG) and others have called for a new trial, but looks like Perry isn't interested.

I'm against the death penalty for precisely this reason - it's possible an innocent person could be wrongly sentenced to die.

However, I was reading about this case earlier and there really is compelling evidence that this guy is guilty and that he is a despicable human being.

"It takes balls to execute an innocent man" - unnamed GOP primary voter in response to a focus group question on the subject and Perry's unwillingness to do anything about it.

The woman who started the memorial page for her daughter, bethena brosz, never spoke to steven or heard steven's voice until he uttered his last words.
she never saw marcus rhodes stand up in court and admit that he shot the 2 victims on his own because this was not done in a trial, it was done in a plea bargain and the victims' families didn't sit through that.
the only thing janet shires saw was how the state (wrongfully) convicted woods of being the shooter, before rhodes had confessed to the crime. rhodes didn't have to confess to the crime and chose to, regardless. because rhodes' prints were on the weapons, the weapons were under his bed and the rest of the evidence was in his car (rhodes' car, that is) .
while it is easy to sit back and believe this bs about woods, his loved ones know the truth. his two sons, his ex girlfriend and the mother of his children, his mother, his fiancee, his 3 brothers, all his family, we all know the truth. steven woods was innocent. he never anticipated that human life would be taken on may 2 2001.
he was as pro life as it gets, by the way.
the courts acknowledged that woods was not the shooter.
the courts let the shooter live in turn for some info about another murder the shooter committed in california.
i had to watch steven gasp for his last breaths of air as he told me he loved me.. after not touching drugs for 10 years. after not holding anyone's hand for 10 years. not getting a hug.. not getting to use the phone.. all because he was just hiding in a parked car as his friend killed two unknowing victims. He was the most gentle, generous, kind-hearted, soft-spoken, caring individual I've ever known.

The murderer got to live. Steven is dead.
I just don't get how this seems just to you?

Stop blaming Rick Perry for this stuff. He does not have the power to take someone off death row without the approval of the board of pardons.

don't worry: Perry "will always err on the side of life."

Perry could issue an EO halting all executions for "review".
