The forums seem a little quiet today. I am wondering how the event with Tom Davis went, as I recall it was scheduled for noonish. Any word from those who were there? Looks like Ron is speaking last at the debate, and that Demint is perturbed about Perry's dissapearing act. Apparently, Demint offered to adjust the schedule so Perry would only be one hour delayed in returning to Texas, but Perry declined the offer and left anyway.

At the rally that begins at 5:30 ET. I think the announcement was meant to be big in South Carolina, not necessarily the entire country.

Cain basically flip flopped on the gold standard in June:

Asked if he was admitting he was wrong about his previous position, Cain answered: “I didn’t say I was wrong, no. I made the statement that we should get back to the gold standard. Now I have gone back and done some more work and found out from one of my senior advisers that it’s going to be more difficult than possible, so I don’t want to mislead people.”

Agreed. I don't like him at all and I really do believe he has way too much baggage to make any sort of run at it, but he does come off as charismatic and/or intelligent compared to the assorted bunch of goons (Bachmann, Romney, Cain, etc.). Ron Paul is still the most logical and intellectual person of the bunch by far, but Gingrich can't be lumped in with the rest of the folksy, "populist" candidates.

Actually, no, that would help us. if everybody articulates the message, all we have to do is demonstrate consistency and integrity. The fact that everybody is coming around to Paul's message demonstrates Presidential gravitas. Paul is the only one that actually MEANS it. That's a lot easier to demonstrate than trying to educate people on the message in the first place.

"I don't think you should use the Fourteenth to repeal the Tenth Amendment" or something to that effect.
