ATTENTION - MSM workaround play.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixville_Notch,_New_Hampshire#2004
Dixville Notch is best known in connection with its longstanding middle-of-the-night vote in the U.S. presidential election, including during the New Hampshire primary (the first primary election in the U.S. presidential nomination process). Starting in the 1960 election, all the eligible voters in Dixville Notch gathered at midnight in the ballroom of The Balsams. The voters cast their ballots and the polls officially are closed one minute later. The result of the Dixville Notch vote in both the New Hampshire primary and the general election are traditionally broadcast around the country immediately afterwards. (THIS IS ALWAYS MAJOR MAINSTREAM MEDIA).

Notice 1992? 10 people voted in the Libertarian Party!!! 5 did in the General election....8 for Ross Perot...
1992
Democratic Primary: (4 voters)
William J. Clinton - 3
Paul E. Tsongas - 1

Libertarian Primary: (10 voters)
Andre Marrou - 10

Republican Primary: (14 voters)
George H. W. Bush - 9
Patrick J. Buchanan - 3
Paul E. Tsongas - 1, write-in
Andre Marrou - 1, write-in

General Election: (27 voters)
George H. W. Bush - 15
H. Ross Perot - 8
Andre Marrou - 5
William J. Clinton - 2

What meetup group is closest to this location in New Hampshire? We need them to make a trip to Dixville Notch pronto - now nice and early and find these people that voted Libertarian in 92 to ensure they vote for Ron Paul.

I will dream tonight waking up on the morning of the primary and hearing that Ron Paul is the winner of the Dixville Notch voting.

Now let's make it so. The media can't ignore it. It's a small but very important task.

This is a cool idea...though Dixville Notch is way up north. I know of at least one person who posts here from Plymouth, NH but even that is about 2- 2 1/2 hours away. It would be worth mentioning to the Concord HQNH & Lebanon/Dartmouth area groups.

I posted this to the groups that I belong to. I don't belong to the Lebanon/Dartmouth groups. I believe that board member ItsTime lives up that way. Perhaps he can be of some help here.

We will be arriving in NH on the 11th and interestingly enough we might be in the Concord area. This would be a great first project as we been our canvassing efforts for Operation Live Free or Die. Can anyone get any information for the people we need to contact? AS ALWAYS...check out Op. Live Free or Die at www.seattleliberty.com and learn how you can support us in our efforts. Thanks!

We have specifically brought up Dixville Notch with the campaign office, and have suggested even to get Ron Paul out there. They were open to the idea, but that may not happen. But in any case, yes, we should get out there. We can get the voter info from the campaign. I'll see if I can get the campaign office to put together a lit-drop packet for Dixville Notch.

we could definitely drive up there for a day or two to canvass, drop sign bombs, put flyers out, etc....

anyone know what the important issues are in this area? (farming, small business, etc)

Dixville Notch is not near me sorry. I just google mapped it, it is near the boarder of Maine. North of Berlin and South of Sherbrooke. It is in the middle of no where.

actually this is one of the few suggestions I've made where the campaign actually responded and executed.

We'll probably see an AP news story like this:
The 2008 Dixvile Notch vote totals are as follows:
3 mccain
2 romney
1 thompson
10 OTHER

lol... funny but depressing at the same time

or more likely:

"Out of 30 votes the results are
McCain 3
Romney 2
Thompson 1
Hunter 0
Guiliani 0
Huckabee 0

and long shot libertarian ron paul with 24 votes"

None that I know of.

Maybe there are enough Ron Paul supporters already living there to cover all the bases. :)

I was in Manchester and wanted to go up there, but no one else did, and the dude I was riding with disappeared. I don't think we had anyone there. A lot of us were sign waving in Manchester. One of my house-mates had a "Ron Paul on Leno tonight" sign clearly visible behind Anderson Cooper, so that was good. Leno was good.

Don't worry too much, we are still doing alright in this state!
