My thought was that if I am going to donate shortly after midnight (EST I live in Florida) , why could'nt peopke in the PST, MST & CST mot contribute at 9pm, 10pm & 11pm respectively. It would do less damage to the server and provide a good deal of enthusiasm for those awake at that time. Plus, the main point is how do you determine the 12:00 cut off time at EST banking hours.

Please let me know what you think!

Let's try to keep it mostly focused to one day so we can see exactly how successful 11/5 was.

The point is to have everyone donate on November 5th.

Not November 4th.

Then when we see how much awesome money we raise in one day, we get more attention and then more donors.

November 5h is really what this is all about.

I think you guys miss the point of the first post. I live in Arizona and when midnight hits and Ron Paul's site starts counting donations for the 5th it will only be 9:00 PM here. I will be sending my money at about 9:30 PM (12:30 AM Eastern Time).

It's two hours now since y'all don't use daylight savings time, I think.

Is it just me or is the counter still showing an hour ahead. Why hasn't it been corrected to Daylight savings time? I think people will start giving an hour too soon. My computer clock readjusted but the widgets all show as not having adjusted.

You're right. That could be a problem.

I really hope that it is readjusted. Perhaps we should drop the campaign offices a call?

Here is the number: 703-248-9115

EDIT: Never mind, it's an answering machine. Dang it, this simple mistake had better not cause any problems.

Does anyone think the protesters are donating today?? We're doing better than yesterday's totals.

If you're so stupid that you cant look at your own clock at home and donate after midnight, maybe you ought to jump headfirst off the roof of your home.

Take a pill already. I was thinking more about the people in different time zones who might go by the counter time. People have put a lot of effort into this and it would be a shame if they donated on the fourth instead of the fifth because the counter was never adjusted for daylight savings time. Just an FYI for those who might not be aware. Have a nice day.

It runs by your computers clock, so if your computer time is messed up the countdown clock will be also.

And it does go by tiime zones.

But my computer time is fine on all my computers. It is only the donation counter that is showing the wrong time.

The donation counter widget is not based on your computer's clock; it is completely independent of it.

The thisnovember5th countdown time is based off your computer clock.

The widget on this forum shows 7:26 p. and my computer clock shows 6:26 p and I am in Eastern time zone. I checked the official website too and also shows 7:26 p on their counter.

??

I do not see a time displayed on the widget at all. I see a countdown clock, but not a time.

Oh, I see what you're talking about. Bah, I wouldn't worry about it. Not too many people are going to base their donation on that. If we see a crazy spike on the graph, we'll just roll that in and consider that a part of it. Besides, I think the site's going to be down at 11 PM or midnight for a while.

Guys, my point was when does a day begin according to the graphs chart and the one accounting chart. Midnight EST or otherwise, plus it saves potential downtime!

Thanks Nelson

Plus notice the spike currently

bottom line, when does ron paul graphs and the campaign consider it 24 hours. I am not a rocket scientist but I understand 24 hours takes place in many locations. That is my question and also my response as to the spike!

Thanks Nelson

You people are really need to get a hobby or something besides this, seriously.

I'm counting it as 27 hours, from Midnight EST to 3 AM EST on 11/6. That's the 27 hours that it is 11/5 somewhere in the continental United States.

In my humble opinion, you are getting a chance to see why people are contributing early that either did not sign or are otherwise not able to tommorow!
Just a thought,

I will do my donation shortly after midnight EST!

Thanks

Why contribure at all? BTW, what does contribure mean anyway. :D

Hm...what? I'm saying that's what we can present as the donation period, for our after-action reports. I'm not talking about the widget.

Get with the program, gentlemen.

I think most of us know how to use the internet, which is far more complicated than a clock, FFS.
