View Full Version : Who would be your VP choice? (Freedom Edition)

Due to popular demand (and The Judge himself paying me a visit :p) I have updated the poll to include him.

So who would you want Ron Paul's running mate to be?

Seraphim

Judge Nap.

Schiff for Treasury.

I was a little slow adding the poll itself. You can vote now.

I think it would be between DeMint and the Judge with a personal preference for the Judge. Can you imagine Judge Nap going up against Joe Biden in a VP debate? It would be a 4-second KO strung out over 2 hours. It would be brutal. Children would be sent to bed early for fear of witnessing such a spectacle. Muhammad Ali would yell, "GOD DAMN" with a look of horror on his face. People of all ages would scuttle in the streets, weeping uncontrollably because of what they had just seen. Oh yes, my friends. It would be good.

This was so awesome I had to put it here :D

Judge Nap needs to go to the Supreme Court...

Since the list is so small and I have to pick one, I'll take Johnson.

Look, count out Rick Perry for sure. Just isn't happening. Same for Rand. And nobody is picking palin.

And while Dennis Kucinich has some positives, mainstream Republicans have more in common with us than him.

Out of those, I'd take DeMint. Also like Fortuno, Haley, and Martinez.

I would like him to be on the Supreme Court too....but his age concerns me a little. I would want him to serve more than a decade.

Yeah I understand that. 61 isn't spring chicken though. I'd like to hear how long he would be willing to serve.

Don't his 911 comments bring pause to any conversation of the Judge being VP?

Honestly, I think Demint and Mike Lee are on the short list, and that's about it. I would love to see Ron Paul-Mary Ruwart though.

I think it's almost unanimous that John Stossel would be the Press Secretary. I had a dream the other night where Stossel appeared in front of the WH Press Corps for the first time and started chuckling.

Tom Woods would be a bloodbath as Press Secretary. A beautiful bloodbath.

I'd pick Judge for VP, as there's no possible way the Senate would approve of his SC nomination.

Tom Woods would be incredible, no doubt. And I guess I can see where it makes sense for the Judge to be Ron's pit bull in the Senate.

Is that trick question?

Anyone who voted other than the judge or Rand isn't paying attention. There are plenty of others of course that would be excellent who were not choices.

He said he didn't believe the official story by the US government. Google it and you should find more information. Don't shoot the messenger, folks! I'm just saying during vetting, that's going to be a big hurdle.

None of the 8 choices listed are any good to be frank.

Bachmann and Palin would scare too many independents away.

Judge Napolitano has made too many nutty statements about 9/11 and the JFK assassination not to become a liability on the ticket.

Rand is good, but a father/son combo would give a bad image to the media. Americans are already tired of the Bushes and Clintons, they don't want to see more nepotism.

Cain doesn't have the experience or qualifications to be a VP, and is prone to saying stupid things while the media are watching.

Kucinich is an absolute joke and would cost Ron Paul most of his Republican support. To be honest, I'd think I'd rather vote to Obama than having that lunatic as VP.

DeMint and Johnson are decent choices, but they don't bring in anything new to the table or do much to address Ron Paul's weaknesses.

I'd pick someone like Rubio, Daniels or Pawlenty at this point in the campaign.

Judge Nap would be much better put into the Supreme Court. For life. We desperately need a true libertarian up there. It would be a waste to put someone like the NAP in a temporary, ultimately mostly powerless position as a VP.

Johnson would be better for VP. The republican base will fall in line. You know their mantra - 'anyone but Obama!'. So getting a conservative person as VP won't really help much, but it will hurt by repelling independents and definitely potential liberals. Someone like GJ would appeal to the left and independents, pulling more votes/support away from Obama and strengthening RP's position further with their votes/support.

Yes, because picking a pro-choice VP wouldn't do anything to affect the Republican base's enthusiasm...

I see your point, but still - I think most would fall in line. They hate Obama that much.

There will definitely be some that won't be involved. So what? They won't be voting Obama.

Many evangelicals stayed home in 2000 after they heard the news that George W Bush had a DUI and it almost cost him the election. Nominating Johnson as VP would probably have a similar effect. To people who equate abortion with murder, nominating an openly pro-choice VP is basically the same as tattooing baby-killer on your forehead.

How in the Hell is Mike Lee excluded from this poll? Absurd, he's the only Republican Senator that opposed the Patriot Act besides Rand. He's not gonna pick his son, and since he's just a House member, he's got to pick a Governor or a Senator if he's smart. There are no good Governors, so that leaves Lee and only Lee.

I agree with your rationale for Judge as SC nominee, but I honestly don't think more than a handful of Senators would approve that pick.

My VP pick isn't on the list. There's only about 3-4 serious choices, honestly.

Judge Napolitano should be Attorney General...clean up the mess Holder and Gonzalez made and restore some dignity to the office again.

Schiff can be on the economic team along with Walter Williams.

Becoming president?

We must never forget that our choice in President defines the character of our nation. We are choosing a leader that will represent our generation, hopes, and aspirations. There is no need for the President or Vice President to be a Politician. What fuels the economics of the Hayek philosophy is a bottoms up inspiration of the human spirit. We must recognize and aspire to the attributes of the true leaders of our generation and not be stuck in the loop of selecting drunkards and frat boys with no true accomplishments.

You want a list of real VP Candidates that would show Paul to be a real man of foresight and genius. Consider this, at the dawn of the current generation, the 21st century was imagined as an age of flying cars, floating cities, missions to mars, longer life spans, robotic assistance, holographic entertainment, and the individual realization of the pursuit of enlightenment and self actualization.

To really change the economy, we must change ourselves. We give athletes and actors millions while teachers live in relative poverty. Our college enrollment and success rate is dismal, our students work 8 hours a day and more conducting research without pay.

For VP let us consider the greatest leaders we have in our nation, not just politicians, leaders in art, science, industry, engineering, military. Leaders that represent the future. A mans reach should exceed his grasp or what else is a heaven for?

General William Shelton, US Space Command
Dr. Michael Griffin, NASA Director and Astronaut
Dr. Francis Collins, NIH and HGP Director
Dr. Anthony Perratt, Department of Energy, Plasma Physics
