Enormous gains in output could be achieved just by putting one of these in front of existing turbines:

Low pressure zone - Genius. Works just like an airplane wing. Instead of creating lift it creates suction. So Simple. Thumbs up and Favorited.

Great stuff there! I wonder if they have proven if it will scale up to the larger sizes?

This kills two birds with one stone. One "issue" with wind turbines is birds getting killed. It seems like this design would give them a place to land on top without getting chopped.
