These graphs must be faked or have been made with misleading data. Anyone who posts this crap must really be in denial about the shape of our country's economy.

the first two charts are mostly just estimates for obama's years let's see how they turn out when the economy continues to tank. First one shows both are just increasing size of government and a decent portion of bush's increase and therefore obama's lower % increase is because of the 2008 budget with the stimulus however both increase the size of the government and shows both parties increasing it. the 3rd chart starts at the begining of the recession and wasnt the stimulus bi-partisian and start by bush? both parties use failed Keynesian methods of trying to fix the economy, i'm little drunk sorry for any typos lol,

basically these charts show why both parties suck

It is based on unrealistic revenue expectations. The government is increasing spending every year still, but they expect some kind of quick economic recovery that will employ millions and thus get them paying taxes again. I would also imagine that it assumes that the US will continue to borrow at such low interest rates. Those charts have no basis in reality.

I'll try explaining them.

First graph shows government spending. Supposedly Bush increased spending 88% and Obama raised spending 7%. So, Obama isn't cutting spending. He's increasing it just slower than Bush increased it.

Second graph shows government deficit spending. What the article tries to say Obama hasn't tripled the deficit. Well, I can only estimate from the graph that Bush added $3.47 Trillion to the deficit. (adding the years) Obama is projected to add $4.8 to the deficit through 2013's budget estimates. Whose spent more? Obama is no where close to having a budget surplus.

The Third graph shows job creation. Big deal. (sarcasm) The initial phase of the "depression" lost a whole lot of jobs. (red) As Obama took office, the amount of jobs lost began to slow. But jobs were still being lost, just at a slower rate. Now supposedly magical Obama is creating jobs. Perhaps, but clearly there isn't a recovery, because we aren't seeing an increase in the number of jobs being created. New jobs are in a stagnant 70,000/month range. At this rate how long will it take to recover the massive amount of jobs we've lost. (add up the lines below 0)

The one thing that stuck out to me was them using the bureau of labor statistics in their numbers. They claim people as not unemployed anymore when they can't collect the benefits anymore. But this guy attributes it to the stimulus must be working so we need more.

Without context, the first chart is misleading. W only climbed so high at the end because of TARP. Obama only started out so high because of his own $700B stimulus in early 2009. The big takeaway from that chart is, minus those two one-shot, large spending packages, Obama still kept spending way the crap high instead of getting back down anywhere below $3T. Additionally, the chart isn't comparing apples to apples, as it makes no adjustments for inflation.

Same pretty much goes for the second chart.

The third chart has been countered before, and my someone with more skill than I:
Debunking the Obama Stimulus Chart, or "How to Make the Numbers Say Anything You Want" (http://www.politicalmathblog.com/?p=394)
Debunking the "Republican Congress Creates Jobs" Chart, or "How to Make the Numbers Say Anything You Want" (http://www.politicalmathblog.com/?p=401)

Best one is this, though: President Obama, I Fixed Your Chart For You (http://www.politicalmathblog.com/?p=364)

imo, these charts are just the counter argument to fox news, nothing more.

by selectively picking information, you can make a chart say pretty much anything you want.
