Greetings!

I thought of an idea to help spread Ron Paul's message not only on the ground before and after landing, and in the air talking to other passengers, but by talking even to the TSA officers rummaging through your luggage - leave them a pamphlet or two to read!!

I know from personal experience that the TSA doesn't have any problems opening luggage and taking things out, so why not leave them something they're supposed to take out! Not only that, but you can pass out a few around the airport before departure, and if any are left in your luggage you can pass those out on arrival!

What's funny about it? :(

hmmm... cute idea! OTOH, TSA is part of DHS, an agency Dr. Paul has sworn to abolish... so for those that are familiar with him, that might not go over so well... For those not familiar with him, is has a rEVOLution logo 3 times - now what's that? - some extremest movement?

either way, you might want to be sure to mention to the "examiner" if you are allergic to latex ;)

and maybe have backup travel plans - say greyhound?

I would imagine there are strict rules about them removing things from people's luggage.

Well, Ron Paul has plenty of support from police officers, firefighters, teachers, and tons of other government employees. Just because they are now employed by the government doesn't mean they can't realize it would be better if they were privately employed.

The rEVOLution logo is displayed, which has the word LOVE in it, and it clearly states that the pamphlet is part of a grassroots campaign.

As for the rules about taking stuff out of your luggage... I think the rule is something like "anything they want."

Last time I traveled with a Ron Paul t-shirt on, I got a SSSS on my boarding pass and got to be pat down by my friendly neighborhood TSA agent, but if I have to get detained in an airport I might as well be detained for Ron Paul.

Yeah, like that stops them.

something that would also be good --- a metal stencil that would show up as
RON PAUL on the xray machine!

I prefer to keep a metal sheet with the Bill of Rights in my pocket when I fly. That way when TSA takes them away I can say they have taken away my rights:

http://www.securityedition.com/
(yes, this really exists!)

FROM THE SITE:
You may take the Bill of Rights - [Metal] Security Edition with you the next time you travel by air. When directed to, however, please cooperate with the courageous men and women of the TSA, and quickly toss your rights in the convenient plastic bin provided for your use at no extra charge. Please do not hold up the line and delay other passengers. It's best for you and your fellow citizens if you listen closely and follow instructions. Once you've been searched and cleared by the busy agents, your rights will be returned to you.

Yes I carry one of these as well when I fly! The point is usually lost on the TSA of course but it's fun and occasionally I get a good response from others in line. Just don't make a scene or anything, keep it fun.

I'm travelling tomorrow evening so that actually would be helpful. Would you please upload it to another host? I keep getting:

Sorry. You can not download this file today. Download traffic for your country is empty.

There are many great file hosters on the web. My personal favorite is MediaFire (http://www.mediafire.com/). (Although they don't provide a delete link and seem to keep the files forever. It's best to create an account just in case you would like to delete the files you upload.) There's also SnapDrive (http://www.snapdrive.net/), TurboUpload (http://www.turboupload.com/), GigaSize (http://www.gigasize.com/), divShare (http://divshare.com/), FileUL (http://fileul.com/), and so on. :)

I plan on taking some slim jims when I go on a trip next month. I'll be leaving them in the seat pouches next to the sky mall catalogs.

Do you really think they follow the rules? If government and its agents followed the rules they would follow the Constitution. We see how obedient they are.

I found the Ron Paul sign I got at the campaign store folds in thirds and fit perfectly inside my knapsack. While I was waiting in the airport last week I just propped it up on my bag, kicked back, and enjoyed the show. Almost every single one of the hundreds of people who passed by slowed down to take a look or make a comment to the person next to them. To top things off, it looked great in my hotel window when I reached my destination.
