Remember when I asked the question “where’s Tim Pawlenty?”

Well, now I’m wondering where Rick Perry is…

I sent Governor Perry the official National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Candidate Survey via certified mail.

Guess what?

His campaign has refused to even pick it up from the Post Office!

Now, I know what you’re probably thinking.

“He’s pro-gun!”

“He even carries!”

Let me tell you, I’ve been in this game for a long time.

What I’ve come to learn is that unless you get a politician to -- at the very least -- sign a pledge stating his or her beliefs, you can never be sure of where a politician's allegiance truly lies.

We know the institutional gun lobby just uses their surveys as window dressing, but we believe our survey questions are extremely important.

Without having a candidate's signature on a survey that lays out -- in detail -- what he will and will not support, it's impossible to call that candidate "pro-gun."

If the only criteria for being pro-gun was whether or not a certain politician owned their own firearm or had a concealed carry permit, it would mean people like Barbara Boxer (D-CA) are pro-gun. And we both know that’s just not true.

The simple fact is, when political figures don’t answer questions, it usually means one thing...

...they’re hiding something.

I need you to help me find out what Rick Perry is hiding.

Give his campaign manager a call at 603-620-3692 and demand that Rick Perry return the National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Candidate Survey.

One of two things will happen.

Either Governor Perry won’t answer and show the gun rights community that he’s too good for them...

...or he will answer and we will have a signed statement from him vowing to protect your Second Amendment rights on very specific issues.

Again, please call Governor Perry’s campaign at 603-620-3692 and demand that he return the National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Candidate Survey.

Perry MUST hear from gun owners like you. Gun owners must hold politicians accountable.

You and I need to make sure that happens.

P.S. If a guy is going to run for President of the United States, he needs to make a commitment on important issues like your Second Amendment rights.

Please call Governor Perry’s campaign at 603-620-3692 and demand that Rick Perry return the National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Candidate Survey.

Help the National Association for Gun Rights continue pressuring politicians who can affect your rights by chipping in $15 or $20. I want to hold guys like Rick Perry accountable and I can't do it without your help. He still hasn't responded:

The UN “Small Arms Treaty.” The unconstitutional Brady gun owner registration scheme. Banning of firearms. Eliminating the ATF.

Where does Rick Perry stand on these important Second Amendment issues?

He hasn’t said.

And I’m afraid time is running out.

With one day left before the September 15th deadline for Governor Perry to return his National Association for Gun Rights’ Presidential Survey, he has so far thrown up a stone wall.

Yeah, Governor Perry says he carries and that he has killed a coyote. But I carry every day as well. That doesn’t make me pro-gun.

I certainly have no problem saying where I stand on ALL Second Amendment issues. I know you don't.

Governor Perry shouldn’t either.

Republican presidential candidates Ron Paul and Michele Bachmann have returned their NAGR Presidential Surveys 100% in support of our Second Amendment rights. Herman Cain has as well.

Mitt Romney has refused to respond. Newt Gingrich has refused to respond.

With his deadline close to passing without having returned a survey, Rick Perry is teetering on the edge of being added to this infamous group of Republicans who refuse to tell gun owners where they stand.

You see, two decades of history dealing with politicians at the local, state and federal levels tells me that silence on Second Amendment issues usually leads to trouble.

It usually means a politician is hiding something -- his true beliefs on the Second Amendment.

What is Mr. Perry hiding? Why won’t he tell gun owners what he really believes?

With Barack Obama in the White House leading the daily assault on our gun rights, grassroots gun rights activists like you cannot risk electing another slick politician willing to sell out our gun rights for ...

... a campaign contribution. Or a backroom deal.

I’d like to tell you that Rick Perry is a champion of the Second Amendment, but I’m afraid I cannot do so unless he returns his NAGR Presidential Survey IMMEDIATELY!

Here’s what I need you to do. I need you to call Governor Perry right now. Forward this email to your friends and ask them to do so as well.

Here’s Governor Perry’s number: 512-463-2000

Demand that he return his NAGR Presidential Survey now, or be added to an infamous list of Republican presidential candidates that have refused to tell gun owners where they stand.

Make that call now.

Thank you, in advance, for your activism.

P.S. Rick Perry has so far refused to tell gun owners where he stands on important Second Amendment issues. In fact, he hasn’t returned the NAGR Presidential Survey.

With one day remaining before the deadline to return his survey, I need you to call Governor Perry at: 512-463-2000, and demand he return his survey at once.

And please consider chipping in $15 or $20 so that NAGR can continue pressuring Presidential candidates to reveal where they stand on important Second Amendment issues (http://paracom.paramountcommunication.com/ct/6697820:9810809032:m:1:219165064:709C22140338EF7CB 4633729E4E548F5:r).

Heh. Good luck getting any traction on this. Perry shoots innocent coyotes with laser-sighted pistols.

Every organization out there thinks they're so important that politicians should just be obligated to fill out their questionaires. If I were running for office I'd try to make a deal with my opponents that we would all boycott all policy questionaires.

^ I agree. I'm a supporter of the individual's right to keep and bear arms. I think we should move on with more damaging material as there's relatively no substance to this so called "candidate survey". IMO it only serves to dilute the other, more legitimate issues with Perry.
