Just saw the commercial on Fox advertising Ron's appearence for Fox News Sunday. It went something like this:

Announcer: "Ron Paul's message to the media..."

They jump to a clip of Ron saying, "They're frightened by us challenging the status quo and the establishment."

Announcer: "Now, we give the Congressman the floor. So what will he say? Find out, Fox News Sunday."

:D

I'm sure Chris Wallace is going to try to make Dr. Paul look crazy. I hope Dr. Paul makes Wallace look like an ass and we gain a bump in the polls. :D

My advice to RON...talk about preserving social security and Medicaid...mention you never voted to spend one dollar out of SS. Do not talk about legalizing drugs etc... but emphasize your case, the best you can, for bringing the troops home BUT maintaining a strong national defense.

Ron has got to strike a balance on foreign policy and address the accusation of being an isolationist...we has to PRE-EMPT these claims before FOX can make them...

lastly, boast about your straw poll finish and your most recent poll against Obama...emphasize that you can beat Obama in the general....

and oh, drop an endorsement from a sitting Congressman...He could say "so and so" has endorsed my candidacy and I am very pleased that Congress is starting to move in my direction...or this state gop is moving in my direction. Ron's endorsements are not well known...and they help.

start acting like a leader...wear a nice suit!

For the 50+ crowd (really teh 65+ crowd) I say focus on Robert Taft. Mr. Republican from the 20th century was a non-interventionist, the old right, or the original right. Focus on how far from true conservatism the party has drifted, that the GOP has lost its way.

Robert Taft, Robert Taft, Robert Taft! They will remember him, most likely fondly and we can draw a lineage there.

Ron definitely has to remember he isn't trying to 'end' social security as Fox puts it, but to shore it up for those who paid in while letting the young opt out, which can only be done if we return to Constitutional levels of spending on other matters (eliminate Federal Dept of Ed etc)

And Ron needs to be on his toes. Fox is not the warm and fuzzy venue for him it is for establishment GOP.

If he goes on by satellite he should NOT use the horrid lens in his office, at least get him to an affiliate wherever he is. That camera is DISTRACTINGLY bad (unless they've fixed that.) We need better footage.

I thought he was going to be in New Hampshire Saturday.....train? Not that his schedule is mine to micromanage, but after OReilly pretending Ron should have cancelled all events to be on his show and that he was 'whining' about lack of media, I'd hate Ron to miss this.

I think Chris Wallace will be somewhat fair here. He's always a little combative with his interviews with ANYBODY so don't take it personally if he gives Ron a gotcha-question.

Remember he had to publicly apologize for his types of questions to Michele Bachmann...

I don't know......

I remember he is the one that asked Ron the most rediculous questions in the debates during his '08 run.

Wasn't Wallace the asshole who shifted from what was being debated amongst the other candidates to deflect Ron from addressing the issues by asking him something remotely off topic? And didn't Ron quickly dismiss Wallace's question and replied, "May I please participate in what is being debated?" (with cheers from the audience??)
