I wanted to give a report of how the Chicago Ron Paul Meetup (http://www.meetup.com/ronpaul-94/) is doing. I think it would be great to hear more stories from the field of other Meetups for encouragement. I have not been able to attend recent events because I've been out of town or had GMAT classes, but it seems like things are going very well. I can't wait until I can make it out to one.
From the 3rd Rally for Ron Paul @ Watertower Place Event:
We had over 30 people last Saturday and even picked up about 5 walk ons at our Aug 21 event - handing out loads of literature and meeting other local Ron Paul supporters. Join us again to introduce the message of Liberty and Ron Paul to the masses along Michigan Avenue. Thousands of people walk by the southwest corner of Pearson and Michigan Avenue every hour. Let's engage them and recruit some more Chicago Ron Paul supporters into our Meetup group...Please bring your sign and any literature you have.
These events are taking place in a EVERY SUNDAY in a VERY high traffic area in Chicago. They are on Michigan Avenue, the largest shopping area in Chicago and probably the busiest street.
I just bought a new T-shirt and a bunch of slim jims to hand out when I can make it out. Also, myself and others in the group also just raised enough money to buy 10,000 cards to hand out at future events:
Thank you to everyone that donated towards our goal of purchasing 10,000 cards from Ronpaulcards.com (http://ronpaulcards.com/). Last night we achieved our target of $240, and I ordered the cards this morning. We should be able to start handing them out over the Labor Day weekend.
