In a one-liner-filled column posted on The Daily Beast on Wednesday night, Friedman endorsed Rick Perry, citing the Republican's ability to fix the economy, his stance on Israel and his contention that there are "too damn many laws, taxes, regulations, panels, committees, and bureaucrats. "

In 2006, Friedman thought Perry was such a sub-par governor that he ran against him, but in 2012, Friedman endorses Perry based on his gubernatorial record? :confused:

When I was a younger man, I voted for Kinky.

I remember that I used to admire him. That was before I could actually vote though.

Let's hope that this "endorsement" was just words of praise on KF's behalf simply because he was answering a question directed to him about Perry.

IDK if it's an official endorsement or not like the Texas Tribune is reporting, but I sure hope it's not.

I've never heard of this Friedman, but it's sad to see someone so many people have heard of actually back away from Paul. I thought once you were introduced to liberty there was no going back.

I can't believe that the candidate who ran against Rick Perry for governor is now endorsing him!!! What is this the Twilight Zone? RP fits Kinky better than Perry.

That particular election (2004) there was a second independent who ran--Carl Keeton Strayhorn. She was the TX Comptroller and constantly butted heads with Perry over the budget.

Friedman is a socialist, what else would y'all expect. An endorsement of a real conservative? Remember this when you see comments extolling on about how conservative Perry is.

Kinky Friedman is a good man. No reason to bash him as many here have.

I would be surprised if he is, in fact, endorsing Perry. But I am sure he would have his reasons. Remember, he endorsed Bill White as well.

Not really sure why this is surprising to people. Perry has a lot of money to throw at people who don't like him. That money in turn garners their political support.

This morning on a 740 AM radio interview, Kinky said he never endorses anyone. He said he felt since everyone was bashing on Perry so badly, he would write some positive things about him.

I read it as he supported Perry over Obama, not that he supported Perry over the other presidential candidates. Sounds like he's believing the MSM lie that Perry has already won the nomination.

He supports giving 7 times the foreign aid to Israel's enemies and the leash we keep on them in regards to self-defense. If we didn't let them attack Syria's nuclear facilities like they did in Iraq in the 80's during Operation Opera, we probably won't let them snipe Iran's facilities in the middle of the night (and Israel WILL know when Iran gets close enough). We would probably quagmire ourselves in an occupation like the idiots we have shown to be, further bankrupting ourselves and spreading our forces thinner.

In short, he hates Israel and doesn't even realize it :P
