I am! ;) Lol

As for the article,
It's okay, but then there is this paragraph:

As presidential contender, Paul remains an extreme long shot. He lags behind central-casting candidates like Mitt Romney and Rick Perry in polls. The pillars of his libertarian philosophy--restoring the gold standard, abolishing the central bank, letting states legalize drugs, gutting the size of government and the social safety net, sharply reducing America's global footprint--are too radical for the typical suburban swing voter. Not to mention that the 76-year-old Paul would be the oldest ever first-term President.

It is defiantly worth reading though! It has great coverage on his political history as well as how his views were crafted.

The article ends with:

Whether or not Paul attracts more votes than he did in 2008, his ideas have clearly taken on a life of their own. And that's what Paul says is most important. "I do what I do because I believe that truth wins out in the end," he explains. Even if his candidacy will have a hard time doing the same.

I would post the article in its entirety, but it's kinda long. I'll still post it if someone wants me to.

Ron Paul and his impact on Republican politics will be the politics feature in the sept. 5th issue of TIME Magazine. He will not be on the front page but will have a large article.

Thats why I didn't want to post either... But its already posted now. I can take it off if you want, but I don't think it is that big of deal. My subscription cost $10 for two years; I don't think that it would matter with one article.

It's like the media has a pathological urge to make an "unelectable" remark any time and every time they mention Ron Paul. Maybe they it's a disclaimer they feel they have to make in order to talk about him and not be made fun of at their cocktail parties.

It's a pretty decent article. We should tweet the author some kudos:

People shouldn't insult Benton, but Benton should NOT have said that amongst several similar things. It is being quoted around as the new way to marginalized Ron. They are painting it as merely an educational campaign several places based on his comments. I am sure that isntt what he meant, only that Ron isn't power hungry, butvthey spin it.

There remains the matter of the candidate himself, though. "He's incorruptible," Wead says. "He just will not say or do anything that is not based on what he believes, even if it will help his cause. It's very frustrating, because at times using different language would be so much more politically effective."

It is extremely honorable and downright heroic, but I really wish he listened to this advice. :( He doesn't have to change his message or compromise his principles, just present the clear facts without the extra lecture that comes with it, the educating is only useful in interviews. It sounds here like Doug Wead has been trying to prep him for the debates but RP refuses to go too deep into talking points.

Agreed completely. I'd much rather have a reluctant candidate, than someone who seeks the office for selfish reasons. You can tell that Ron Paul does want to be President, but it's not for the typical reasons that people have when they run for that office. That's why Jesse's comment was right on.

Ron Paul once again abuses his incredible sex appeal.

For the next hour, Paul stands in the gathering dusk, shaking hands, snapping pictures and signing memorabilia: $2 bills, a watercolor portrait of his face, a copy of the John Birch Society's magazine. "I'd ask you to sign my chest, but it probably wouldn't be appropriate," says one woman, who settles for her sleeve.

An "extreme long shot"? He's not McCotter, Johnson, or Cain. Ron Paul was second in fundraising and is polling third nationally. Was John McCain an extreme longshot four years ago at this time, when he was polling third and was third in fundraising?
