Bill Kristol gives Ron Paul a little bit of credit on the issue of the Fed/monetary policy, says Paul appears to be somewhat vindicated in that regard. The whole discussion is from 4:50 to 7:30.

"almost appears to be vindicated.."

This smug idiots are so annoying... They were/are completely clueless about the economy, Ron details it with precision YEARS before, and they're subtly trying to say, he got lucky. That's why he has support. But he's a crazy loon on everything else. These smug idiots just laugh every time Ron is brought up. They will all burn in hell.

"Fools mock but they shall mourn."

Bill Kristol: "If Ron Paul doesn't say that Iran should get nuclear weapons, he'll win the Iowa caucus."

Should Ron listen to Kristol and follow his advice?

K knows what Ron said, he is taking the opportunity to spin it as something else

Did they actually not mention Rick Perry? .... Is this is a sign they know Rick Perry isn't electable?

Rick Perry is the Fred Thompson of '08. He is there for a purpose. And gaining kudos from the elite for doing it.

I'd like to know when they had a serious discussion about Palin, Perry, Bachmann, etc.

Ron Paul should never listen to Bill Kristol about anything.

Do you seriously want Ron to start pandering and saying things he doesn't believe in, now, after 30 years of honesty and commitment to principle?? Don't you think that would invalidate everything he's fought for?

If Ron Paul pandered, no one would have ever heard of him. He'd just be another politician, and probably not a very successful one at that. I think he would be terrible at the pandering and lying politics game.

Ron Paul -will- win the caucus, but by sticking to principle and no other way.

Kristol is half-right. No, he should just word his response differently without changing his position. Ron spends too much time educating, he just needs to point out the facts because the average voter doesn't care to be educated, they only hear talking points. ex. Ron says "why wouldn't it be natural for Iran to want a nuke?" average voter interpretation: "hurr, he wants i-Ran to get a nuke!!"

Isn't Doug Wead supposed to help prep Ron for the debates? How could they not have gone over the issue of Iran? :(

Rons biggest problem has been the way he words things. He should have spent the last four years working on crafting his message into better soundbites. He is never going to be "smooth" but he can do better. Its frustrating cause Kristol is right. All Ron had to do is say that he "Understands why Iran wants a Nuke, which would be in order to compete at an equal level with all those around them, including Israel. In a perfect world, we would all be lowering or eliminating nuclear weapons". That simple answer would have stated his opinion and would have secured the win.... which would have put him in an undeniable position of leading this race!
