I mis-spoke... the 6.5 million includes pledges... im in the fundraising business.. trust me.. pledges dont mean actual donations

That was back in January, though, wasn't it? It's not surprising, really. He has many connections in the business and political world. He's also a Mormon and from what I've heard and read, they have great organization and solidarity.

I wonder what his total number of actual donors were that day...

Be interesting to get the stats - how many donors and avg donation. I guessing avg say $500 = 1300 donors. We can sure beat that in number of donors. Remember the total donors is also a very important number as that's what counts in the ballot box - one person per vote last (before Diebold!)

Romney reported 3.14 million for January 8th for donations greater than 200. Between networking in LDS and the personal contacts that come from his founding Bain & Co, this shouldn't be surprising.
