I must admit that Jesse did well in this interview.

That woman was a pretty awful interviewer. She couldn't spit out pre-written questions without stumbling.

"Paul campaign raised $190,000 this election cycle" @ 2:45 in ticker?

Good job Jesse!

I'm curious about some of the numbers shown. They don't seem to be accurate: 190K raised this quarter, 1.7 million cash on hand? Does that mean that the campaign was essentially broke before the money bomb?

I also saw $1.7 Million on hand on that ticker. I'm pretty sure they used the numbers from the top of this page. http://www.politico.com/2012-election/ron-paul/index.html

There they go again, pressing that Ron Paul is a libertarian. They're just trying to confuse the people.

Well that explains it - thank you.

I'd really love to see Jesse AND Ron talking about all the money raised over the past weekend and pointing out the source of the money....something like this:

"We're raising more money than most of the other candidates. Just this past weekend we brought in nearly 2 million from individual donations that averaged about a hundred dollars each. That money is from the people, from real Americans. Sure Mitt Romney can bring in millions, but it's all in huge bundles from bankers and Wall Street types. You have to wonder what exactly are those donors expecting in return?"

That woman was a pretty awful interviewer. She couldn't spit out pre-written questions without stumbling.

She also "forgot" to hit her cough button while Benton was talking.

She's the one who recently had this famous exchange:

Contessa Brewer (this anchor, arguing in favor of Bernanke's money printing): "Do you have a degree in economics?"
Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) : "Yes ma'am, I do. Highest honors."

Clearly they have raised more than 190k this cycle, Ames alone was 660k. 512k spent this quarter I could certainly see, but cash on hand 1.7 million cannot include the b-day bomb..

Again, we bragged about only spending 400k or so in Iowa, and we only just opened New Hampshire. Some small ad buys in Nevada as well, and some radio. Where is the disconnect? I expect this will all be covered in the next reporting but I certainly hope we haven't exhausted all of the money from Q2 when we're THE fiscal conservative.

Why didn't he say last time we got 5th at Ames and 5th in the caucus, and we're polling such and such in Iowa.

I think he flubbed it on the marriage question. Not because that's a bad answer, but because it was a bad question.

The media puts us on the defensive by calling us libertarian and distancing us from conservative voters who don't really understand what that means. Don't defend from the libertarian position, take the moment to capture the argument and say that this isn't exactly a libertarian position. This is a constitutional position. Reframe the argument in a more positive light.

Jesse Benton impressed me with this video.
He handled the interview exceptionally well.
He should do more interviews whenever opportunity comes.

Regarding donations, they had 3 mill in da bank @ the end of last qtr. Then, I believe they raised a half mill prior to Ames + 660k for Ames + 1 mill Ron had put in from his Congressional fund + the recent 1.8 mill. So basically, we got roughly ~4 mill raised this qtr + 3 mill from last -450k for Ames & -whatever they've spent on tv ads and staff for IA, NH, and NV. If we finish off well next month, we'll be fine.

Obviously, the more the better.

Yeah I thought Jesse did very well here, even with that chick trying to trip him up he stayed on message. I also agree that he should do more if the need arises.

Big fluke on Jesse for not correcting the interviewer for calling Ron a libertarian. Should have said something like. "Ron is not a Libertarian. In fact, he is the only true Conservative Republican in this race."

Good interview.

But who is running the youtube channel? Putting a picture of the logo and then throwing in a cheap looking transition is NOT an intro! It looks very cheap, most fan channels look better then that...

The interview would have been good if he didn't let the interviewer call Ron a libertarian about 5 times. How can you overlook that?
