I would like to start a thread (maybe make it a sticky) detailing as much as we know on decided primary/caucus dates, and keep updating it as a live document of sorts. The question of, "...when is blank state's primary in 2012?" gets asked a lot on this forum.
Here is my best list; those in the know please correct me if you have evidence that the date is wrong, or if I have missed some states that have decided. My understanding is any votes held prior to 4/1/2012 would be by states agreeing to a proportional delegate system; aka: no winner takes all formats prior to April. That is why I only took it up to April for now.
--------------------------------------------
February 6th: Iowa caucuses
February 14th: New Hampshire
February 18th: Nevada caucuses
February 28th: South Carolina, _________
March 6th (Super Tuesday - 9 votes this cycle): Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Colorado caucuses, Idaho GOP caucuses, Minnesota Democratic caucuses
March 13th: Alabama, Mississippi, Hawaii GOP caucuses
March 20th: Illinois
March 24th: Louisiana
