I was curious to see if we have a plan to prevent the crap that happened to Ron Paul in Louisiana & Nevada in the last election?

I have a friend who witnessed this voting fraud FIRST HAND here in Baton Rouge. I think our numbers are stronger now so I don't think it will be as bad as last time. I'm gonna send him a link to this thread and see if he'll chime in...

Arizona shenanigans as well.

at the AZ state GOP convention the neo-cons printed lists of blacked out delegates and handed them out 5 times (updated) during the actual vote.

After the crap that went down last time, didn't we try replacing the local neocon GOP douches with Paul supporters?

I'd be looking for shady goings on in IA and NH before anything else. Wins in those states would open up the floodgates, he finishes out of the top 3 he's done.

He had the votes to win Louisiana but got screwed over at the last minute.

Best thing to do in Louisiana is have everyone you know who isn't registered republican to REGISTER NOW.

The #1 thing they did last time to screw us out of votes we had was to throw away people's votes who were registered on time, but in the last month or so. They claimed only like 12 of the approx 600 provisional votes were valid.

We know a) over 90% of those votes were for Ron Paul.
b) I talked to over 12 (more like 40-50) people who voted provisionally THAT HAD PROOF OF VALID VOTING STATUS WITH THEM. People like myself who registered in the last week before the deadline, had voter reg cards with date of issue past the deadline - even though we registered on time. I'm not even talking about those (valid) votes. I'm talking about people who got their cards in the mail before the deadline, STILL weren't in the books (how convenient that your books were 2 months out of date, LAGOP) and had to vote provisionally.

Fraud that I witnessed myself.

Get them to register as early as possible. It will be harder to pull this BS.

Maybe we should start a reminder thread for supporters in Louisiana to Register early so that doesn't happen again.

ron paul's campaign hq is having its grand opening sept. 4th.
if anyone lives in the fifth congressional district, pm me.
ron is investing assets here, and we are beginning to organize.
last time we did it on our own. now we have backing.

When is the primary in Louisiana?

JWZguy

Not sure about the primary, but it doesn't matter. Primary here is usually non-binding. The important thing is the caucus, and I don't think that date has been decided. Last time it was much earlier than most states.

Is there a rule this time preventing the combining of delegate slates?

If your campaign cannot find enough people to fill a slate, then you don't deserve to get the eventual delegates, period.

I sure as hell hope so because we need an early win to get us some momentum & to stick it to the pundits that Ron IS ELECTABLE!

Last time, the party leadership in Nevada staged a walk-out and then the delegation didn't have a quorum to continue at that point!

Let's make sure that in Nevada and all the other states, that we train enough new delegates to stand alongside us at the State Assemblies. Spread the word to every supporter you know that Delegates are necessary to win in the caucus states!!
If we have enough Delegates, a quorum will be present - even when they stage a walk out next time! hehe

As torchbearer said, there is a grand opening party of the Louisiana RP 2012 Campaign Headquarters September 4th, which is free and open to all Ron Paul supporters. For everyone in Louisiana, more information can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=156419377771500

The news stories I have been reading say Iowa is on Feb 6th. Sounds like LA will be before Iowa this time.

IA is not a worry in this regard, the caucus is extremely transparent. In the last election, paper ballots were used, and were counted right in front of the entire precinct by two different people who supported different candidates. In my precinct, one of the ballot-counters was a Ron Paul supporter, the other was a romney supporter IIRC. The ballot counters were on-the-spot volunteers who were asked who they supported, and the precinct chair asked if there were any objections. After the ballot votes were counted twice by each counter, tallied, recorded, and the results sent in by the precinct chair (with witnesses watching) by telephone, the ballots remained available for anyone to examine them before being sealed and stored. I don't think it was possible for the process to be any more fair, transparent, and fraud-proof. The county convention was the same way, with everything taking place in plain sight of everyone present. All very fair and square, it would have been virtually impossible for anyone to somehow cheat. NH seems like a better place to put the effort into watching things very closely, given some of the reports from there in the last election.
