High school student focused on academics, though I babysit and fix computers on the weekends. Starting on the 5th, I will begin putting nearly all of my extra money and most of my time toward the campaign.

I love seeing younger ones involved! Welcome aboard :D

I hope my son will follow your footsteps...he seems to be going the political way. He's in middle school now.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm very excited to be involved. I orginally felt that politics were not only way over my head, but also incredibly boring. Then, as I started to watch the news more often, I noticed there were some strange things going on. Once again, nothing I can do about it; way over my head.

Fast forward a bit, and I see Ron Paul on digg. I did my research and realized that he is the only man that can change the direction the US is currently heading. I am now extremely excited about the election, and politics in general.

I wish the best for your son. Once he realizes that it is something that significantly effects his life, he will get even more involved. I think that is the biggest problem, the small changes that are made, individually, appear to have no real effect on our loves. However, looking at the big picture, we realize that it is a big deal.

OK...

Full time job, plus I help at my dad's diner once a week. I'm also the father of 3.5 year old identical twin girls. Wife works days, I work evenings, so one of us is always with the kids. It's rough, but it works for now.

What would be interesting is the number of supporters who receive a most of their income from the federal government (SS, federal contractors, etc).

Last I saw, over 50% received most of their income like this.

(I work for L-3 as a programmer for the FAA, so I qualify too).

We did the opposite shift thing too, it can be hard, I know. Looking back, I feel good that we did it, and I guarantee there will be light at the end of the tunnel, esp when we get Ron in :D

Wow. According to the one statistic I read, about 8% of Americans are self-employed. Right now, our poll says about 20% -- more than twice the national average -- are self-employed. I guess that speaks to our independent nature. :)

Yeah, it's not easy. We kinda had everything "figured out" until we went for that first ultrasound and saw 2 babies. Not according to plan, but I couldn't imagine it any other way. I had to change my job and take a small paycut so I could be working nights before they were born, but it's worked out well in these (almost) four years. Taking a paycut sure beat having to spend $15-$18 a year for infant childcare. Plus the thought of someone else spending more time with my children on a daily basis really didn't sit well with me. As it stands, they see me more than anyone, which probably explains why they get excited when they see everyone else. :D

For the past few years I've been working 40-70 hours a week, going to school full time, and attending and/or helping my church 3 days a week. Sleep is a luxury I can't afford.

Unless............

Paul gets elected and cuts my taxes. Then I will only work one job.

Por nada. My avatar used to be Amanda Tapping in a fairly revealing pose, but I found I lost all concentration while posting when I used it ;)

Second, I'm not a big fan of disclosing personal information on the Internet, unless its completely innocuous (there are a LOT of Amanda Tapping horndogs out there). If I had wanted to open up my life like a book to a total stranger, I would do it when one of those tedious survey people call me on the telephone. That's all - no criticism intended.

One wonders why I'm slowly drifting into nonsensical insanity.

Self employed.

It would also be interesting to know how many people work for the federal government.

Maybe that's why so many people are scared of Ron Paul. The Federal government is the single largest employer in the US.
