Watching Fox News and Kelly is interviewing Santorum. The lead in she says something to the effect of "Everyone says Ron Paul is being treated unfairly, but Rick Santorum isn't getting his fair shake."

Santorum says that he really finished second in the straw poll since T-Paw dropped out and "as many people that showed up for Ron Paul at the straw poll will show up for the caucuses; he's not going to finish in the top 3 or 4." He also claimed that he is the only candidate that can beat Obama since he once upon a time defeated an incumbent Democrat.

This guy has some serious delusions of grandeur...

Hey Santorum, "You lost to the guy that lost so bad he had to drop out of the race."

EDIT: "Oh, and quit saying you're from Butler, PA. We disown you."

Seriously?

"Iowa will be a good state for me. In fact I'll be in the top 4 there. So why would I consider dropping out?"

a first place photo finish tie and t~paw quitting has santorum felling he's in second place? that's a mental leap!

Santorum is only staying in the race so he can double down on Ron paul at the next debate. He's sacrificing himself for someone at this point. Ron Paul will need to just ignore him, so as not to give him much credibility.

I like what Trump said about him something like "He lost as a sitting sentaor by 19 points, he has no business running for president"

Santorum has jock syndrome and he just can't admit that he has lost.

Finally googled "santorum" and nearly spit out my drink from laughter. I kind of hope this guy tries to go after Ron again so Ron can smack him down even harder. Who's funding this guy anyway?

Exactly right. I agree with the poster that said he is sacrificing himself for someone.

The best thing we can do is ignore him.

This, he's trying to get into a fight with Ron or at least with his supporters to boost his own nonentity self. Don't help him.

I wish he would just stop saying anything about PA. I don't like our state being associated with this man.

Santorum says, "as many people that showed up for Ron Paul at the straw poll will show up for the caucuses..."

Well, let's see: Ron Paul received 1,305 votes in the 2007 Ames straw poll, but he received 11,841 votes in the 2008 Iowa caucus. That's roughly 9.0736 times as many votes in the caucus as at Ames.

So if history is any indication, Paul, having received 4,671 votes in the 2011 Ames straw poll, should received about 42,383 votes in the 2012 caucus.

Surprised he didn't go one further and say Bachmann only won because she had the Randy Travis concert. Iowa is as favorable as it gets for Santorum and he's still struggling.

Santorum lost by 20% his last election to a pro-life guy in Pennsylvania.

Ron should bring up the Catholic Just War theory if Santorum continues to attack him during the debates.

Wouldn't it be more accurate if the thread title was something like ... Santorum claims he came in 2nd in the Ames Straw Poll?
