This might sound of dumb but I just think the Paul name alone would give ron paul more national recognition. Also Wouldn't Paul Ryan steal more votes from Perry?

No, not at all. Every time someone new comes in it keeps them from researching Ron whom they think they know, when all they know is the spin, imho. As the flavor of the week candidate starts to fade, Ron always starts to go up, and as soon as he starts to go up, the next flavor of the week candidate comes in and stops his momentum.

Ryan voted for TARP, for no child left behind, for the prescription drug expansion of medicare with it's ban on buying the drugs from out of the country where they are cheaper, and his budget plan would require that the debt ceiling be raiised for 20 years straight. Despite that the average person on the street is deluded into thinking he is a budget hawk.

As strange as it sounds, people might actually get the two confused over their similar names.
