I'm telling you, this media anger is what we've been needing all along to get a huge donation total! It's the missing ingredient that made Nov 5th and Dec 16th huge. Also, unlike the past money bombs, I can actually see people's excitement for it here on the forum.

This is for the official campaign? If you're maxxed out, is there a way to donate to RevPAC and have it counted in OUR total if not in the official campaign total? So maybe we get $2 milion for the campaign and, those maxxed out and whoever, get 3 million over at RevPAC. Could we get a counter that could do that? Or two counters?

No. The ticker count is strictly donations to the campaign.

Well, I'd hate to be the newbish one. But what is this moneybomb about exactly? Is it just for donations? Could I get some info on just what exactly this is about? Cuz I will donate most definitely.

What happens when I attend the FB page?

Once again, I am sorry for appearing newbish, but it's only because I am! C:

What is the average donation amount to Paul?

trey4sports
08-17-2011, 02:05 PM
What is the average donation amount to Paul?

usually the average is around $100 - but if you're trying to do the math via FB RSVP's, the amount raised is usually (pledges) x (2) x (100) = amount raised. However, the last moneybomb bucked that formula.

We had over 4000 for the last moneybomb but it flopped big time. There used to be a strong correlation between moneybomb RSVP's and amount raised. It seems as though the numbers are being skewed more and more.

Do it manually. I know it's boring and time consuming, but that's what I did. It only took me like 3 minutes, really. I invited 500+ friends by clicking on them individually.

Also, I have a question. Are we sure there will be a ticker up?

someone said that fb does not allow you have but only so many invites or waiting on replies per event. If that is true then why doesn't Ron Paul's facebook page just create about 5 or 6 events that are linked to the moneybomb and then just divide his 450000 friends into 6 groups and invite them to the different events. That way you reach all of them.

Just don't be surprised if half or more of the likes on facebook don't translate into actual donations. It's much easier to click "like" then to actually part with your hard earned money. Pledges on the donation site will likely translate to more donations, but I wouldn't count on more than 80% myself.

I'm not so sure about that. It seems we usually have more donations than pledges in the end. Some people simply don't even really get the opportunity to pledge, but donate as soon as they catch wind of it. Our day of push usually leads to a lot of direct donations in addition to pledges, so in the end I think it at least evens out.

Yes, it USED to be that way. We had over 4,000 RSVP's for the last moneybomb and ended up only raising 500K. I don't want to be a buzzkill i just want folks to approach this with some cautious optimism.

I tell you what. I have been really shocked. I have never facebook invited any of my friends to a moneybomb. Not that I don't care, but I just never really thought anyone I know would actually join. I invited my friends yesterday, and I have had two people join since last night. It just blows my mind. Funny thing is, I didn't even know those two people liked Ron Paul. If 2000 people from this site were able to get 2 friends to join, then that would jump the number up by another 4000 people. It would triple our results. Think about it.

I believe that RevPAC has their own money bomb coming up. They'll probably have a ticker then. If you're maxed out and want to donate during a money bomb, you could wait for that.

Alternatively, you could just say, "Ticker shmicker. I'm just gonna donate right now."

He needs the money NOW not later - it's not like he's going to just blow through it wastefully!
There are Primaries in January and February next year - we can't wait until November! Let's make this the BIG ONE!!!

SRSLY. Who is the guy who served hotdogs and had an inflatable slide at the Ames straw poll?

Ron is too cheap fiscally conservative to spend it if he doesn't need to spend it. But if we want him to be able to run ads to turn a narrative at key points, he needs the money.

Not only that, but if we want to make some money bomb months down the road as large as it can possibly be, then the best way to do that isn't to save our own money and wait for that. It's to donate now so RP can add more supporters and new donors between now and then.
