Obama has ramped up every war he inherited, started a few more, continued or strengthened every "executive war power" they railed against Bush for, and led an unprecedented attack against whistleblowers. How in the world does anyone think he will do anything to cut back the war machine?

He won't is the obvious answer. The people who believe obama was serious and can not see the obvious lie they bought into need to wake up and get MAD!! Otherwise they are just mindless robots voting for the candidate with an R or a D beside their name and believing what the talking heads in the mainstream media spoon feed them every night. I know how it feels...I was once under that spell as well. Once I finally woke up and looked back...I asked myself what the hell was I thinking? How did I get caught up in the soap opera? After that I was just plain mad.

The right policy would be make massive cuts in the military industrial catastrophe and apply the savings to massive government contracts to build the peaceful green economy.

lol... i won't even go there. "the right change is to stop government spending on this one thing i dont like.. and instead use it on this other thing i do like! yeah, that'll fix things!"

In short, "NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!"

Check out what the man's official campaign site has to say.

In fact, much of the “pain at the pump” Americans are now feeling is due to federal policies designed by environmental alarmists to punish traditional energy production – like oil, coal, and natural gas – in hopes of making energy sources they favor more “economical.”
In short, he is against environmental policies which make it difficult for people to make ends meet.

Sadly, even with $4.00 a gallon gasoline, many are attempting to make our energy crisis even worse by working to impose job-destroying carbon taxes, or a “Cap and Tax” system.
In short, he's against cap-and-trade, which IIRC is real popular with progressives.

As President, Ron Paul will lead the fight to: * Remove restrictions on drilling, so companies can tap into the vast amount of oil we have here at home.
This should go over real well.

* Repeal the federal tax on gasoline. Eliminating the federal gas tax would result in an 18 cents savings per gallon for American consumers.
In short, make sure people can use more of it. Should also go over real well.

* Lift government roadblocks to the use of coal and nuclear power.
Sure progs are loving this so far.

* Eliminate the ineffective EPA.
The last nail in the coffin.

If progressives were really that worried about the war and MIC spending, then BHO would be getting primaried.
He's not.
This sends a clear message.
They don't care about the wars. If they do, it comes last in a list of priorities - and everything RP has to say about the environment and "green" economy is the polar opposite of one of their main priorities.

Keep trying, but until progressives are ready to kick this blatant impostor to the curb and wipe him from memory, it's pretty clear to me that they just don't care about the wars.

This post was meant for progressives. Pass it along to them and I am sure it will make them think a bit more about voting for Paul instead of Obama. Just for the heck of let me tell you what a progressive approach would look like: 1.) with persistent high employment, one should cut taxes, increase spending and lower interest rates. The best kind of spending is that which benefits the most people. Huge spending on repairing and modernizing our infrastructure ought to be going on right now. This needs both public money and private contractors. The mythical and oxymoronic free market will not do this by itself. This would include fiber optic cable underground everywhere carrying energy and information in a much more efficient manner. Wind, solar and yes natural gas, oil, nuclear where they can be utilized without endangering senstive areas. (Tree huggers think there is no safe place; oil slurpers think its safe everywhere. NIMBY prevents a state's right strategy.) We ought cut tax on gasoline down to about 5 cents while we remain in this condition of high unemployment but as unemployment is tamed, taxes on fossil fuels ought to increase until it reaches 1 dollar a gallon and discounted one cent for every percent of renewable content. We ought to end the corn subsidy and legalize hemp and import Brazilian sugar based ethanol. We ought to auction off the Interstate highways to states and private companies in states where the people permit it and use the proceeds to build an interstate high speed rail system. We ought to impose a refundable recycle fee on all recyclable products. We ought to impose a high tariff on oil imported from countries sponsoring terrorists and slightly lower tariff on countries grow but do not sponsor terrorists (again kick this in when the unemployment rate falls below 5%). Subsidize local farmer's markets with tariffs on imported meats and subsidize fresh fruits and vegetables with taxes on meat and junk food. I am sure you think that if we just eliminate taxes on all energy production and consumption that everyone will immediately begin to use energy efficient technology, to eat local, healthy foods and buy renewable energy and be able to sue the pants off any multi-billion dollar company that pollutes up stream.

Now that we have talked policy lets's talk politics. Not a damn thing I say, you say or Ron Paul says is going to make on damn bit of difference unless a coalition of libertarians and progressives sharing power at all levels of government gets the corporatists out of power. That ain't happen if both progressives libertarians refuse to reluctantly and temporarily compromise and creatively and willingly synthesize planks in a coalition platform. Let the perfect be the enemy of the good and watch the corporatists continue to kick our asses.

Nope.
Socialism is the problem,,not the solution.
it needs to be wiped from this country like the predator species it is.
Not compromised with... eradicated. It is a plague.

It may not happen in my lifetime. but it's eradication is a worthy goal.
