Worth watching Ron Paul's name might come up. He'll be on for one hour. It just started. He's fantastic.

glen beck is such a douche... he was like, "whoa...your starting to sound like that crazy RON paul guy..." and then they went to a commercial.

Oh...and its on CNN headline news....its TV, but not regular CNN

Penn just started talking about how the president's power should be limited, and that individuals should retain the most power.

Glen threw his hands up jokingly, saying "Wait, wait, wait... Now you're starting to sound like that crazy Ron Paul guy!"

Penn then replied, "Maybe Ron Paul is right..."

I'm pretty sure I know who Penn is voting for after hearing this interview with him. I'd find it astonishing after that statement to see him vote for anyone else.

Lets politely request a public endorsement (or at least a donation) from Penn. I love that man (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=167268020157151248).

Whatever you do don't bring up religion or the 9/11 truth movement. Just talk about how good the Bill of rights are and how Ron Paul takes his oath seriously....)

The US not charitable?

Correct me if I am wrong, but we donate more to charities per capita than any other country in the world. Maybe I have this wrong, but I thought I just saw that statistic.

I am really getting sick of this Glenn guy thinking he is a libertarian then calling this guy crazy. I like the guest though. Quite a character.

Could not agree more. This Penn guy can talk! He's fun to listen to. He has his own show? Any good?

Yes, he has his own show. It's good. http://www.sho.com/site/ptbs/home.do

Check out his videos on youtube.

His show he performs with teller is called "bullshit!" and it's one of my favourite shows out there. They basically debunk popular issues. I imagine a lot of people on these boards would find something offensive that they disagree with but if you enjoy being exposed to different views like I do you'll LOVE their show.

You can download torrents of the show at mininova.org well worth it.

They are definitely small goverment libertarians.

I loved the part he said about those against abortion. Thats exactly how I feel. I haven't exactly made up my mind about abortion yet. I was leaning pro-choice, but then I found out about Ron Paul and have reconsidered.

If Ron Paul went on the Glen Beck show....would he get a full hour like Penn just got? Because if so...then he should definitely go on GLEN BECKS SHOW!!!

DJ RP

I think he might be libertarian because he speaks of the founders with a lot of respect and is very patriotic.

I miss PennRadio very badly.

Penn is a self-described libertarian, who often mentions the possibility of being an anarcho-capitalist.

I miss Monkey Tuesday

I think Penn is an anarchist, isn't he?

Penn said on his radio show that libertarianism(read: minarchism) is too fascistic for him, and that he considers himself more of an anarcho-capitalist.

Whatever. Ron Paul should still be appealing to Penn right?

Lets not talk about ideology it will cause fights here. Lets just agree Ron Paul is a good choice and we need work together to achieve this goal.

Penn is a libertarian.

Definately check out Penn and Tellers Showtime series "Bullshit" if you don't mind very strong language and nudity in you TV programming. I think they have released the first 4 seasons so far to DVD. Here is the amazon link:
http://www.amazon.com/Penn-Teller-Bullsh-Complete-Second/dp/B0006FO5IC

And you can also rent them on Netflix.

I hate to say it but I'm starting to like beck. he's laying the foundation for ron paul support with his rhetoric.

He's always done that. He'll say a bunch of things that sound great, then he'll call Ron Paul crazy and say how Romney or Giuliani are good. I just stopped listening to him, I couldn't handle the frustration.

YouTube people?

The only one I can find is HERE (http://www.pennfans.net/view/Video_Archive/Penn_and_Teller_Videos/Penn_Jillette_Interviewed_by_Glenn_Beck/)...

But this is older I believe, no? He was in studio for the one that was on today.

Yes this interview was a good way for Beck to take some baby steps closer to taking RP more seriously without having to talk about him directly. Great lighthearted interview that helps introduce the ideas of liberty to people which unfortunately are new to most Americans these days.

The interview will probably be rerun a few times more over the weekend so check listings.

When Glenn Beck said "crazy guy Ron Paul guy" he sounded a little sarcastic...due to the context of how he said it. Beck is bipolar. I don't know what to think of this guy anymore. He is one of the few MSM guys that talk about the founding father's and the constitution, than ridicules the one guy that can bring us back to it.

Noog

I'm telling you guys.....it's evolution in progress...... layers and layers of neocon-ism is slowly being eroded away from Beck, give him some more time ;)

Yeah, that's just so weird to me. He seems to agree with most everything Paul does, with exception of the War on a tactic.

I'm quite disappointed that Jillette hasn't shown any real support for Dr. Paul. It seems like the whole Cato branch of the Libertarians is ignoring Paul. Go figure.

Richandler
11-03-2007, 08:42 PM
I don't think Jillette knows enough about Paul to support him. Penn seesm to be a regular celebrity guest on Glen Beck's show. Perhpas after that interview he may latter come out in support of Paul.

Both Penn and Teller are HL Menken Research Fellows for the Cato Institute.

I was going to link their page, but Cato seems to be down right now. I used to read Cato all the time, but it seems that Boaz and the boys at Cato have lost their way.

www.drudgereport.com has the following headline, but no link:

"FLASH: TALKRADIO/CNNHEADLINE HOST GLENN BECK SCORES NEW RADIO DEAL VALUED BETWEEN $25-50 MILLION [BASED ON REVENUE SHARING], SOURCES TELL DRUDGE... DETAILS ANNOUNCED ON MONDAY... "

Obviously not directly related to Paul, but could increase the exposure of Glenn Beck which would possibly have an impact.
