people were ANGRY about the fact that fuel prices rose 6 cents since yesterday, and its getting out of control.. so then I usually hint at the fact that oil is not gaining value, the dollar is simply losing it.. And many people are aware of this.. and then of course I casually lead the conversation into how the government is paying for their wasteful spending by being sneaky with inflation..

anyway, to sum it up, I garned some more support for Ron Paul today, and passed out about a dozen bumperstickers and a few dvds.

The birthplace of the Paulman! :D

We in Maryland refer to them as Pensyltuckians...

Although I'm not sure why, as there taxes are much lower, they can actually carry firearms on their person without being someone famous, and a myriad of other things.

I guess we just want to feel superior by being far more socialist then them and having a lower percentage of people owning pickup trucks.

I think I want to move to Hanover.

Superb. It is the most natural form of persuasion to use the other person's concerns as the route to their heart and mind, but to use this as effectively as you have requires being really prepared. Excellent.

I converted another fellow employee employed by the vast military industrial complex today because I got him into some ABX (Barrick Gold) (http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=ABX) call options a few weeks ago, lol, and he was very interested in hearing about Ron Paul after his gains :)

Good job.

Let them know that $3 a gallon gas hit us when crude oil was about $70 per barrel. Now it's about $95 per barrel. The oil corps are cutting into their own profit right now and waiting for the general population to get used to thinking $3.01 per gallon is cheap gas then they'll raise it further.

The dollar index, while it has sunk to historic lows, hasn't sunk commensurate with oil price increase. The Euro price for oil has risen as well, though obviously not as much. Saber-rattling on Iran is a more important factor. An attack on Iran would devastate the supplies and it has the futures markets highly concerned.

so i'm filling up at a gas station and a guy just starts talking to me about how high gas prices are, how much it is per barrel (97 exactly today), how "Bush f'ed us", and then he mentions how the dollar is so weak and compared to a decade ago in europe when the dollar was stronger and he quotes the exchange rate. So I'm thinking this guy is keeping up with the news.

I ran into my van and snapped into a slim jim,

gas price is a good conversation starter to spread RP's name out there.
