You know, Bill Cunningham, talk show host, who endorsed McCain and was a big supporter of the never ending wars. The guy who was always going on about Barack HUSSEIN Obama and Muslims. He was interviewing some market expert who owns Real Clear Markets (http://www.realclearmarkets.com/) and launches into this enthusiasm for Ron Paul, saying how he's right about everything and the guest is agreeing. I couldn't believe my ears.

If RP is flipping the war mongers then this is amazing!

You have to understand something. I'd say a majority of conservatives support the war on terror because of 911 and/or they're sympathetic towards Israel. They aren't down-the-line imperialist minded neocons. Alot of these people were tricked.

yes, I agree but Cunningham was one of these pro Israel, pro war against Muslims everywhere, every day. I think it's the debt & Fed issues that are waking them up.

Correct. This included me in 2007.

Awesome news! And to add to AuH2O's point, I think some conservatives are starting to realize that the neocon agenda isn't really helpful to Israel long term either. That's the reason Michael Savage started attacking the Iran and Afghanistan wars.

i googled him after hearing his show which was very pro - liberty. He seems to be a good guy going through a political conversion.

coming to the realization that you are broke and in debt past your eyeballs has a tendency to wake one up.

Hey, Specs, what is that about the Israeli govt and funding abortion in your sig?

They provide a significant number of abortions every year. Your tax dollars at work.

I think Cunningham is clueless. He was talking to a caller who is a trucker and a Ron paul supporter. At the end of the conversation Cunningham told the caller he should look into Marco Rubio and that he is great. Cunningham even stated that Dr. Paul had stated or was looking to have Marco Rubio as his "Vice President".

Now if that is not a clueless Neocon, then I do not know what is.

Clueless is right.

Let's try to be grateful, guys. Rubio has tricked a lot of conservatives into believing he's not a pro-war, pro-social engineering douche. Doesn't change the outpouring of full support from Bill C. for Dr. Paul.

I heard him coming into work tonight around 11:45 eastern time. To be fair, I only heard that part and was really turned off because as a Florida resident, I CAN NOT STAND Marco Rubio. He is up there with Rudy Giulliani and Lindsey Graham as the worst Neocons in my book. So the parts of the show that you heard are good so I beleive Cunningham just needs a little bit more of education on liberty, freedom and the Constitution.

You mean in israel?
Yes.

Israel has socialized healthcare that covers abortion. They have a law that guarantees a free abortion if a number of easy criteria are met. Since money is fungible, that means we are subsidizing abortions in Israel with our tax dollars via our "foreign aid" -- even if our money is earmarked for defense spending only. This happens to be the exact same argument used by many conservatives to defund planned parenthood here in the U.S.

From the above link,

STATISTICAL ABSTRACT OF ISRAEL 2010 2010 למ''ס, שנתון סטטיסטי לישראל
הפסקות היריון
TERMINATIONS OF PREGNANCY
2009 - 19,917 abortions

This is the official government statistic, but who knows the truth.

Right, and from my reading, those that want them and are denied them through the review process (not that many are denied) can still go and get them through private paid clinics. Those #s are probably just the govt-paid abortions, made possible partly due to our foreign aid.

They finally posted the audio on their website. This is pretty good stuff.

@4:10
Cunningham: Every time I heard Ron Paul talk or his boy Rand Paul, it fills me with excitement... I'm thinking the guy makes a lot of sense... Ron Paul excites me... His ideas are my ideas... Wouldn't Ron Paul make a great Republican nominee?

John Tamny: "I think so... wouldn't you love to see Ron Paul up against Barack Obama?... Ron Paul would embarass him up there"

And as far as Bill Cunningham being a neocon, he sure doesn't sound like one here:

@13:40
Cunningham: We're still spending $10 billion a month in Afghanistan with no obvious purpose or reason... We're spending $10 million a day bombing the hell out of Libya... We're spending millions more in Yemen bombing them... We're bombing 5 countries in the Middle East... We're on a war footing but nobody knows it... Soldiers are being killed, civilians are being killed... We're borrowing the money for these wars from the Red Chinese... There's no way out except to come home... Obomber refuses to do it... I've asked John Boehner my friend why doesn't he do it... He mouths all this support for the military, which OF COURSE we support the military, I love them so much I want to bring 'em home alive!
Also at 17:00 he calls Bush a "soft-socialist", "failed presidency", and an "unmitigated disaster".

It's great to have Tamny in our camp too.

RealClearPolitics/Markets is an important website.

If we have Drudge, RCP, LRC, Dailypaul, Infowars, RPF, AmCon - then we have a very large web footprint.

American Spectator is fair to us too.

I listen to Bill's show sometimes on Sunday nights (comes on before Coast to Coast AM).

The guy is in no way a deep thinker. He reminds me a lot of Sean Hannity, fueled almost entirely by emotion. Bill gets destroyed when callers use facts and clear reasoning to counter his arguments. Also, Bill has a penchant for listening to really really uneducated redneck neocon types and saying "You're absolutely right!!!" He sanctions ignorance.

However, he is somewhat entertaining at the radio game and does have a sizable audience. In that regard, his "conversion" is a good thing, and undoubtedly helps us. We really do need the Hannity's/Cunninghams/Limbaughs of the world to warm up to Ron, even if it's just a little bit.

I've heard this more than once.

What I've concluded is that most of the radio pundits are delivered a script of talking-points, that keeps them consistently arguing the same identical neocon points a the same times.

Cunningham is not on that list. He's been sucked in by neo-conservatism ideology but is not actively controlled by them. He is actually allowed to stray from the script, unlike so many others.

Good for him for using his mental faculties and hopefully he fully wakes up like the rest of us.

My two ameros.
