Trump just tweeted:

realDonaldTrump Donald J. Trump
Ron Paul is right that we are wasting trillions of dollars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Wow didn't expect that from Trump. Wasn't he parading militarism just before he got knocked out?

no, he's been against the wars for a while.

They all know what's about to come, and they are all adjusting accordingly. But yeah, Trump is generally anti-war.

I think the brat is losing interest in that third party spoiler run he promised us in the event we get our man the nomination. If he weren't, he'd be staying antagonistic.

Good news.

Wasn't expecting this at all. This is a major turn around from Mr. Trump.

Actually, if I remember correctly, Trump made similar comments after CPAC about Ron's stance on wars and spending.

So one minute it's, "I'm sorry, but Ron Paul can't get elected," and the next, he is going out of his way to say Ron Paul is right. Guy is more confused than Mitt Romney.

Are we sure Trump meant he'd run if the GOP nominated Ron Paul? I thought he meant he'd run if we nominated another McCain. Like Romney.

Well, when Trump was asked about the "wrong nominee", he was referring to Romney because he questioned Romney's stances on some issues. He never talked about Ron, however, and name dropped Bachmann, Pawlenty and some others that he met and thought were interesting. It subtly felt like he was also putting Ron in the "wrong nominee" group, but you know what happens when you assume.

Once Trump says: "Ron Paul CAN win and I'm sorry I said he couldn't", I think he's going to have crowds of people thanking him everywhere he goes. LOL. That would be his mea culpa for me. But I've never heard Trump apologize.

he was saying he'd go into these countries and control their resources as spoils of war.
he was complaining that we spend all this money and get nothing out of it.
he isn't non-interventionist. he is a capitalist who wants something back on his investment, regardless of the political cost.

Getting his endorsement would be a nice boost to the campaign.

Trump has a lot of feelers out to see what direction things are going right now. I think he knows Ron Paul has a good chance of winning the nomination, and he's kissing ass early.

Even a narcissist like Trump has the capacity to have a 'come to Jesus' moment... unfortunately, he doen't know that Ron Paul's stance is the same one Jesus would probably take on ALL issues. :)

I wonder if anyone in the media will pick this up? In any case, I don't put much stock in it. Yes, it's nice, but some of the harshest critics have said nice things about Dr. Paul at some point.
