Bachmann, the climactic final speaker of the day, kept a crowd waiting for about 45 minutes in the hot sun, then spoke for all of about 21/2 minutes.


She said she would get the economy back on track - "the whole shootin' match" - within three months of taking office, then waded into the crowd. Before leaving, Bachmann ordered a corn dog.



"Why don't you get a real job?" a man on the edge of the crowd shouted, interrupting.

"And you can speak as you wish, like this gentleman," Pawlenty said, going on to say that Americans have lost faith in their government.
