Has anybody else been experiencing problems with their browser closing?

Twice now my browser automatically shuts down. I've had to create a new user account with windows xp pro. And it works fine for a while but I just clicked on a forum thread and IE shut down. When I try to open it, it stays open for about 2 seconds before closing. This is the 3rd account that I've created.

Talk to my computer support and they said that it was corrupted and they walked me through the 'settings>accounts>new account' process.

It's easy but it's a pain and the other user accounts are still corrupted.

I'm not sure why this was moved. Once it's off the first page people won't be informed.

You most likely have something on your machine - spy or ad ware, possibly a trojan. There is also a nasty hack/virus type thing roaming around that once it gets on your system has to be ripped out by a prop. It hides itself in legit programs which can make it VERY hard to find. Internet related functions going haywire such as you describe is a symptom. Take it to a pro - better safe than sorry and loose data by corruption. Just speculation of course but this has been floating around for the past two months that I've seen.

Also do your Windows Updates and make sure you have IE 7. Better yet - use Firefox :)

I installed Firefox on that new 3rd account and it showed up as an install for my original account.

Everything is working fine now.

Thanks!

Try using Spybot it's free and it gets rid of a lot of spy ware. Make sure you update it before running it.

Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5.1 -
