Lucky for me I ordered my copy before he went on Leno. It's a good read so far. A lot of his old speeches before Congress.

Usually if they're out of stock the page will say so; now it just refers you to other sellers.

Anyway, you can get the book direct from the campaign, which supports the effort:

From NBC’s Domenico Montanaro

The Ron Paul Revolution is apparently translating to book sales today. Paul’s book, “A Foreign Policy of Freedom: Peace, Commerce, and Honest Friendship,” has moved to No. 22 on Amazon’s Movers and Shakers list. His book sales have jumped from No. 594 to No. 294 -- a 102% increase -- in the past 24 hours.

Paul did get some more national exposure Tuesday night as a guest on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

If the book is printed in Lake Jackson and you can purchase them direct from the publisher, I'll drive to Lake Jackson this weekend and make a bulk buy, my wife can put them on her amazon store.... anyone know how i could go about finding this out?

i ordered mine off of the campaign store website directly... got no message about it being sold out.

i wonder how many they printed, and how fast will they print more?

And why doesn't every Ron Paul supporter in this country buy one? :)

Ordering from Amazon could, in the long run, do just that. In a way, it can eliminate the middle man because the campaign is likely going to use the money to get Paul's name out. When I buy a book from Amazon, I get it cheaper, tax free, with free shipping. This means I can buy more books to give out to my friends. Furthermore, as the book rises in Amazon's rankings, more and more shoppers, who would not be searching for it, will be exposed to the book. Finally, it provides a statistic for the media to write about.

Edit: Also, if I buy it from the campaign store, how much of the $25.95 (price + shipping) that I spend does the campaign net after expenses?

I wouldn't take that for granted. I already called Amazon and asked them to please restock it. I suggest a few others do likewise. You can tell them you heard about it on The Tonight Show and wanted to read it, or something like that. :)

It looks like you can buy it directly from the FREE NEFL which is the non-profit organization that publishes it. Until someone buys bulk and sets up a shop where the profit would be donated to the campaign, this would probably be the best place to buy it from.

More money for advertising is better for the campaign than a higher ranking on Amazon.

A higher ranking on Amazon is advertising. So is selling out the book (which can be done twice as fast on Amazon).

Earth to Santana, More Publicity = More Money.

Do you think the few piddly dollars the campaign gets from the book is worth more than having the publicity of an Amazon best-seller? Come on.

No reason to get hostile man.. Take it easy :D But yeah, I agree with you it'd make more sense to pump up that amazon rating for the publicity it creates.

Earth to you - i think we're doing just fine on publicity. We need to pay for more ads for more states.

Ron Paul can be #1 in every page of every website or newspaper or video site or social networking site but in the end what does that accomplish? MSM writes it off as "spam" and then they ignore it and move on, while marginalizing us from TV and mass media outlets. We need to compete there. Buy from wherever you want - i'm not arguing that. I really dont care. But *I* personally would rather buy direct from the source.

Those statements contradict each other. We wouldn't need to pay for more ads for more states if we were doing just fine on publicity.

I only point this out because some people are having a hard time understanding that the purpose of the fundraising is to get Paul's name and message out to as many voters as possible. This Amazon book project thing is a great way to do that.

Edit: BTW, I think it's great that you're buying from the source. Donating to the campaign is, of course, a good thing (even if it is twice the cost).

What is the purpose of an ad? - to expose people to Ron Pauls message.
What does a high Amazon sales rank do - exposes TONS of people to Ron Paul's message.

When a book is in the top 10-20, it's highlighted - amazon tells you about right up front, if you ask or not. If it's got a high sales ranking, and you are looking at other books that are related - politics, foreign policy, economics, it will offer it up as a "you might also like". If people bought another book at the same time as this book, amazon will offer up, people that bought this book also bought this book... (so try and buy another, different book when you buy Dr. Pauls! - You can't buy advertising that good!

Then you get secondary advertising when people write about it's sales rank, that is free and if we can maintain this snowball, we'll end up on the bestsellers list for the NYT, etc.

We are not trying to advertise to reach MSN, we are trying to reach the public and Amazon is in face a major media outlet. They reach a lot of people, and allow us to get a message out there through readers comments and reviews of the book, not to mention the book itself.

Like I said earlier, most book dealers follow the top 300 or so books on Amazon very closely. Thousands of people are paying attention. If it breaks the top 100 tens of thousands of people are going to notice. This is a great way to reach a lot of people.

Amazon probably didn't start with that many in stock. It shouldn't take that long to get more, even if FREE has to print more. I wonder why Amazon is putting the date for delivery out so far.

The campaign should get on this. It's important that people who saw him on Leno can order the damn book.

Okay, I just noticed the ranking is up a little from earlier and that someone added a review. The increased must be a result of an affiliate sale.

Actually, this is one of the VERY, VERY, VERY FEW occasions where I think it IS perfectly legitimate to contact his congressional office to urge them to do something. The book is NOT campaign material.
