It's old news, but I've been around a while and haven't seen it mentioned before, and I just stumbled across it:

I'm impressed, and would like to see more of this. This time, it's not about the party, but about the man and his ideas. It makes perfect sense. The best thing that could ever happen to the Libertarian Party (20 year member here) is to have Ron Paul as President. It would most likely elevate the party to equal status, and I'm sure Ron Paul would spearhead some election reform movement to make things easier for third parties.

Yes. I was actually the National Volunteer coordinator for the Kubby campaign. After seeing what Ron Paul was doing I abruptly left the campaign and published a letter in all the Libertarian blogs asking all Libertarians to do the same at least for this primary season. Two days later Kubby endorsed Ron Paul.

This is the smartest thing I think I've seen the LP party do, he makes very valid points and while its not completely 100% in line with the LP position I'm glad he see's this can move the party much further then holding onto a hopeless campaign that unfortunately wont go anywhere.

If the LP had once ounce of sense (which it is clear they do not) They would call an executive meeting, suspend the usual nominating proceedure and nominate Ron Paul as the LP candidate, regardless of whether or not he wants it.

I get some amusment from the fact that one of the strongest RP boosters in the state is the Libertarian party chairman.

He described the three libertarian presidential contenders as:

A pothead
A socialist
An asshole

From what I understand having multiple party affiliations would cause some problems with ballot access in some states and ruin Ron's run as a Republican.

So they only nominate him in states where it won't cause that problem. Simple.

There was a letter in the latest LNC newspaper urging the LP to do exactly that.

Why would they do that? they are hedging their bets, if by some fluke Ron Paul does not get the nomination, they can still run a candidate.

Well, they'll know in time for the convention whether he's getting the R nomination.

George Phillies should do the same thing: drop his selfish nonsense and throw his full support behind Ron Paul.
