last i knew friday it was supposed to rain and saturday possibly in the morning.. we'll have to check.. i see rain, as we discussed in another thread, good for RP bad for others.. RP supporters are hardcore and will show up.. others, well how would the t-storms effect their christian/country concerts?

Interesting. One article said Pawlenty had better pray for sunny skies, because his flat, grassy area would get muddy....

Still, not so great for Ron's inflatable slides, either.

Bachmann's petting zoo will be downright nasty...

I'm not sure. I would think intense heat would keep more apathetic voters away than rain, but then again i'm not sure. As long as Ron wins it's all good

Isn't Ron using a stage for his speaking? Hopefully rain doesn't ruin the entire day.

t-storms? if it is t-storms could get intense out here.. im sure most candidates will be prepared for intense heat with water and cooling effects but how many will be prepared for a good ol midwestern t-storm? either way, it just depends on how bad it is.. this week has been just lovely in ames so far..

I would assume the stage would be inside the tent. In any event, it COULD be inside the tent. I'm sure they'll manage. The question is whose supporters will be hardest hit.

When i did the weather check it showed T-storms on friday night, and "few showers" on Saturday. Of course the description it gives for Saturday is somewhat contradictory but the way i read it was hard rain Friday, and light showers Saturday. The report did not list the % chance of rain occuring though. Sometimes the description may list t-storms but then there is only 10% chance of them occurring.

The NWS says (http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?map.x=195&map.y=138&site=dmx&zmx=1&zmy=1) partly cloudy for Saturday. Best chance for rain is Friday. High near 78…so not hot at all.

I like Weather Underground, but I'm not from Iowa. I find it is more accurate in the mountains than weather.com which seems to use major cities almost exclusively. It says cloudy with a 10% chance of rain for Saturday, but rain on Friday.

scroll down for the weather prediction for the week.

School was in session. That is a big difference. If Ron does well Saturday, it will be without any of his usual advantages.

I would love a good Ames rainstorm, all those old Bachmann neocons can stay at home.

That's the point I was making. Inclement weather would be a net plus for our camp.

Ron could invest in umbrellas that say RON PAUL 2012...or have an extra overflow tent...

I was there for that crazy day and night in MS. Dodging very crazy, slow moving, storm/tornadoes for hours before and after the event. Nutz!

What website did you find the weather report on?

Says few showers on Saturday. Friday seems to be more the T-storms than Sat.

It looks like the best chance for rain will be before sunrise, then clearing up as the day goes on.

Everything could change weather-wise by Saturday. These forecasters regularly get it wrong.
