Well, if this was the same unit that allegedly "took out Osama bin Laden", then this was nothing more than tying up loose ends. About two dozen of the only people who could verify Osama bin Laden's capture died in a single helicopter crash.

This is the equivalent of saying, "HEY GUYS MY HOMIES KILLED THIS ALIEN BUT BURIED HIM IN THE ATLANTIC. I HAVE PICTURES BUT I CAN'T SHOW THEM TO YOU BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO PISS OFF OTHER ALIENS. ALSO MY HOMIES JUST DIED."

the day it happened there was a story saying that the seals that died on the helicopter weren't the ones in the unit that took out OBL. not sure how many people are in seal team 6. i find the entire story very heard to believe because SEALs work in teams of like 5-7, the amount of money spent on these guys warrants them to be not clumped together like this in case shit like this happens. so hearing that like 25 of them were on the same helicopter...i find that hard to swallow.

here is the pertinent quote

"We don't believe that any of the special operators who were killed were involved in the bin Laden operation," a senior U.S. military official told Fox News.

Hey, at least it didn't take a year for them to admit their lies this time around, unlike Pat Tillman.

Oh, and I don't think any of the OBL killers were on that helicopter. At least, that is what I've been lead to believe.

The first reports from almost any military action are not going to be accurate. At the first report of anything coming in over the radio, I just made the assumption something is happening. It always takes a few iterations to get a reasonably accurate view of events.

p.s. the accident that my homies died in was so bad that the remains couldn't be identified.
