You can never have too much RAM or drive space.

Maybe now your server can remember to keep me logged in, instead of forgetting about my session every ten minutes or so without a post/edit.

...probably not. ;)

(I know that it must be my browser, but I have no idea why it won't keep me signed in.)

+ 1 for the upgrade.
Same here. Is there some sort of purchasable plan that we can buy to eliminate getting logged out every ten minutes?

Allow cookies from RPF? Remember Me box checked upon log in?

I have no problems, I'm using Mozilla Firefox BTW...

I'm allowing first party cookies, and that's what RPF's would use, correct? I actually haven't bothered checking the Remember Me box for ages, since it never works, but...maybe I should start again. ;)

Now you should set up a Counter Strike game server just for Ron Paul supporters :-)

The logging out is on your side. My gf's pc never remembers that I logged in.

i've never had any issues. if you're having trouble with forgetting sessions i would definitely look at browser cookie settings.

The only cookies I'm rejecting are third party cookies and anything from a Google-related domain. Hrm...

it's probably that. try enabling them just long enough to see what happens... and if you can set a rule to allow the rpf one that should solve your problem.

Thank you sir.

The Revolution is happening faster thanks to your efforts.:)

I'm gonna go re-read all the 'lizard people' posts now and see if the upgrade helps me make sense of them...

That's the signal to the establishment that we are indeed serious this time - RPF has been upgraded!

They ought to be quaking in their boots!

ps- wasn't that a tad risky doing that RIGHT before the straw poll? I remember when a certain campaign was in it's final week last year and the forum was down for "maintenance" due to an "upgrade". I suspect it was the CFR hacking in to give us a DOS attack, but we'll never know for sure

:p

In all seriousness though, when we search for "new posts" can we get more than 10 pages old?

I was wondering why there was an upgrade and not a 3 day foray into tiny chat.

As usual visiting here performance - page loads are very fast with the only slow down I can remember is when something big is going on like the last debate. I am guessing this should help for the coming debate. Out of curiosity are your running multi-cpu Xeon's?

Isn't RAM really cheap now? I've seen on sale lately 8GB of non-ECC DDR3 RAM for around $35 (after $15 rebate). I'm guessing you may need ECC RAM for a server though which is usually double the non sales/rebate prices.

How much RAM can the server handle and do we have any extra slots available? I would chip-in money for server upgrades (assuming we are buying DDR3 RAM and not DDR RAM)

Definitely try that. I used to have that problem, but clicking that little check-box (on either Firefox or Chrome) took care of the issue.

It was definitely a "duhh" moment for me.

Would have to be ECC REG RAM for more...

now, RAM alone is not the answer, at some point they will have to split web and SQL.
