County Council Chambers really holds about 100-150 people. We probably crammed 250-300 in there. The noise was VERY loud, and anybody who was a hardline county GOP member there got treated to whoops and shouts and cheers for Paul from the large group standing in the back anywhere they could find room. During the new business part of the meeting, there was quiet applause for a Fred Thompson announcement ... a Mitt Romney annoucement ... but somebody just talking about the Ron Paul phone bank hours got MASSIVE applause. It was great! Jason Spencer of the Spartanburg Herald Journal was there, so expect the usual excellent coverage from him soon on GoUpstate.com

Yours truly was ratified as a voting Committeeman, and next I'll try to get in as delegate. I was interviewed by the Spartanburg Herald Journal, and I got to ask Ron Paul a question I'm sure many will find dear. It went like this:

Me: First Dr. Paul, let me thank you for curing my apathy. (loud applause) I know you don't support net neutrality, on the grounds that it is government regulation of the internet, and opens the door for more regulation. If you compare Internet Service Providers here in the States to those overseas, you can get 10 ... 100 times faster service for 1/2 ... 1/4 the cost overseas. Is ignoring net neutrality equivalent to handing over a blank check to the new Ma Bell that is AT&T?

Dr Paul: (summary) Yes, that's right about net neutrality ... I would remove the monopoly advantages in legislation people like AT&T have ... make it so that new ISPs don't have to go through endless fees and federal tape to get into the market.

Pictures coming momentarily.....

That would certainly help. I've been against him on this issue, but I wonder if he does something like this if it would help. But, I dono.

I only got a few pics at the Greenville rally because I was busy trying to wave traffic into the event and missed the speech.

Here is the line of folks waiting to meet Ron:

And one of me with my autographed copy of the Ames mosaic ad that I got Ron to sign, alongside a supporter from NC who had a T-Shirt with the same image.

I breifly told Ron about the creation of the ad and he didn't seem to be aware of its origin but said he loved it and has seen it everywhere.

Tomorrow at Clemson I'll be in place to listen to the speech this time and let someone else stand out in traffic.

I just got back from this, I came all the way from Boone, NC. It was an incredible speech with some solid questions from the audience. Can't wait for the next rally!

I must say that was one of the greatest events I've ever been too. Ron Paul said so many things that I've heard him say before, but he's such a great speaker. I finally got to shake his hand and talk to him in person.

During the Q & A I asked him if he was surprised that he got more donations from the military than any other candidate, and also if that had anything to say about our current foreign policy? He started off by saying, "I should have put that in my speech." That was probably one of the biggest moments in my life, for Dr. Paul to say something like that to me. He went on to explain that he's pleasantly surprised by the donations but he has talked to a number of young people in the military that are very pissed off and agree with his position. So it wasn't as shocking to him as it might have been for the mainstream media.

I travelled down from Boone, NC just to hear him speak and it was totally worth it. I can't wait for the next rally I get to attend. Onward with the Revolution...
