For being an older guy who rambles on about economics a lot, Ron Paul also has their weird cult of personality about him. Ron Paul supporters often don't just support him, they seem to actively love him. A dedicated base like that, along with name recognition from his '08 campaign, could make for a very strong grassroots effort.

Paul is often referred to as the intellectual father of the Tea Party movement. He's been spreading the Libertarian word long before it was popular, so he certainly has the credentials to earn Tea Partiers' support.

I like him and all, but he is really the vehicle to get me what I love: liberty.

Ron is just a vehicle. The Revolution will continue even without him. But I do love him. No man has done more for liberty since Murray Rothbard.

I'd say the good doctor has done more for liberty than Murray Rothbard because Rothbard wasn't on the news everyday ranting and raving about liberty.

WHEN Love with unconfined wings
Hovers within my Gates ;
And my divine Althea brings
To whisper at the Grates ;
When I lye tangled in her haire
And fettered to her eye ;
The Gods that wanton in the Aire,
Know no such Liberty.

II When flowing Cups run swiftly round
With no allaying Thames,
Our carelesse heads with Roses bound,
Our hearts with Loyall Flames ;
When thirsty griefe in Wine we steepe,
When Healths and draughts go free,
Fishes that tipple in the Deepe,
Know no such Libertie.

When (like committed linnets) I
With shriller throat shall sing
The sweetnes, Mercy, Majesty,
And glories of my KING ;
When I shall voyce aloud, how Good
He is, how Great should be ;
Enlarged Winds that curle the Flood,
Know no such Liberty.

Stone Walls do not a Prison make,
Nor Iron bars a Cage ;
Mindes innocent and quiet take
That for an Hermitage ;
If I have freedome in my Love,
And in my soule am free ;
Angels alone that sore above,
Injoy such Liberty.

Not sure if any of you watch 'Breaking Bad' on Sunday nights on AMC. Last night in a notebook they were looking in there was a Ron Paul President 2008 sticker in it. I thought that was kind of cool. Someone on the set is a Ron Paul supporter.

Oh I love him alright, I'm fairly certain of it. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him, every morning when I wake up I go straight to the computer and search for him, and every night before I go to sleep I check again just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Lol my husband refers to Ron as my "boyfriend", he says things like "how's your boyfriend doing in the polls?", or "I saw your boyfriend on Drudge today".

Even your husband knows Ron Paul is a winner, just can't deny the peoples thirst for liberty! Cool story!

LOL, me too. My husband will ask, "How's Ron doing today?" He just pretty much lets me do what I want. Donate, order campaign stuff, hang signs on our porch, put bumper magnets on the cars, insist he wears his Ron Paul 2012 t-shirt. :) He puts up with my frequent rants. The first thing I do when I get up is check the forums and it's the last thing I do at night. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that I love him too.

I once got a donation request with Ron Paul's signature on it and kept it in the passenger-side visor of my car, just 'cause I thought it was neat. My kid sister saw it there and started teasing me about it, saying "is that a letter from your lover...Ron Paul?!". The dramatic pause before she said his name made it so funny that it's become sort of a meme around our house.

I'd say the good doctor has done more for liberty than Murray Rothbard because Rothbard wasn't on the news everyday ranting and raving about liberty.

Rothbard contributed in a different way. He helped create an intellectual base for the movement. Now Paul is taking it to the mainstream.
