Here's the Tennessean article describing what happened.
http://www.tennessean.com/article/20110713/NEWS01/307130115/Police-charge-mother-Nashville-airport-altercation

(Drake's notes version: The lady was flying out of Nashville. She told the TSA she didn't want to go through the scanners. They told her she and her daughter had to be patted down. She said that she didn't want her daughter's crotch grabbed. She attempted to use her cell phone camera. She was arrested and is not out on bond.)

Bump. I can't believe nobody has replied to this. Am I the only person at RPF willing to stand with this woman?

Edit: Even if you aren't willing to join the Facebook group, at least give moral support by posting here.

I don't give moral support to a domestic terrorist who refuses a Freedom Grope.

+1 While talk of protest and such is popular - economic boycott is more effective, and finally, we are going to have to form our own society within the society at large. One proof on concept is established, then it gets interesting. The FSP is the right idea, but the execution should have been on a smaller scale than state level. Start small and grow.

Security checkpoint agents said she was rude, swearing and held up the line, so they called over the airport Department of Public Safety Officer Jeffery Nolen. He arrested her.

sheesh ... why is being rude an arrestable offense?

Per the comments ... we sadly have much education ahead:

Awsome job by security, if this had taken place in most other countries this woman would not be seeing daylight for a long time. Why is she above the law? If you fly there are random searches and kids are used all the time by moms and dads to carry their illegal drugs, is the security justifiable? yes, if that needs to be explained to you then you will never get it....

The process may be onerous and may be less than perfect, but it is our process. It has yet to offend me when I am either patted down or put through the scanner, knowing that someone that does not have the safety of passengers at heart may be next to be checked and a disaster averted.

You want safe flights but in today's world there are so many crazy people that want to killl you because you breathe, so again instead of bitching, complaining, and name calling, come up with a plan that will keep me safe for bad people when I fly....

Really irks me that TSA/DHS are using the CPS bully stick (threatening to take away a child) more and more to quell dissent / force compliance.

Threat of child theft should be jail time.

It's terroristic, isn't it?

I think Brent Pierce had already posted some info on this, search around a bit it's probably out there.

"Police charge mother in Nashville airport altercation."

What a disturbing distortion of a headline.

If no one flies, do the airlines get bailed out or get made public like Amtrak Sky or something....?
