What actual powers does this super committee of 12 have?
Can they circumvent the Congress and Senate?
Are they Constitutional?

I'm very concerned that just as we see congress beginning to show some signs of awareness of their constituents the president comes out with this new tool which flew pretty close to the radar.

Has Ron or Rand come out with any public statements regarding this issue?

All I've read and heard is that Ron Paul is against it. Don't know too much of the details, though, but I do know that he's against it.

The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land. If the "Super Congress" does not derive its authority from the Constitution, then they have no authority and are operating outside the rule of law. Actions taken by the members of illegitimate authority are subject to reprimand.
