Yikes. It's gets worse. How do you like dem apples? :D

He continued, “It’s criminal that like, you know, so little is asked of people who are getting so much, I mean, I don’t mind paying more. I really don’t mind paying more taxes. I’d rather pay for taxes than cut like ‘Reading is Fundamental’ or ‘Head Start’ or some of these programs that are really helping kids. I mean, why not? This is the greatest country in the world. Is it that much worse if you pay 6 percent more in taxes? Give me a break. You know, look at what you get for it. You get to be American.”

Damon also said those making over $250,000 per year are not job creators.

“Nobody went and started a business with their Bush tax cut. You know, I don’t know who would believe something – that just defies common sense so no, that’s – no. I was against those tax cuts. I thought they were ridiculous. So little is asked of the upper class anyway, you know. I mean, what percent of them or their kids are fighting in any of these wars?” he said.

"nobody went and started a business with their bush tax cut" that just tells ya how much this guy knows about basic economics. He makes this statement as if its founded in statistics or some well known fact. When in reality its just a generalization and has no real meaning in the real world.

Very removed from reality... Aside from flawed philosophy, what is he really contributing to society?

Hey, he was great in movie xyz - I enjoy watching him as an actor. He should really stick with what he's good at, IMO. Same with others - just like George C-looney.

A big Hollywood actor's view on life - how is that person's life consistent with that of the average American's? Why anyone would look up to these people is really strange to me.

Lol him talking about his BS ideas reminds me of Prince Charles ideas on Global warming and population controll. Again like you said why would anyone take them seriously.
These hollywood leftist are indeed very removed from reality and live in there own world. A reporter friend of mine shared with me a story from when Reagan was up for his second term. He said he interviewed some leftist after Reagan won his second term and asked them what they thought. They said "we dont know how he won. We were sure he would lose because everyone we know voted against him". I dont believe much has changed in hollywood, they live in there own lil world that is very much diff from mainstreet.

Nothing is stopping him from paying more. Apparently he needs the force of government to push him to pay more.

Somebody should inform him that simply acting in some war movies does not mean he served in the wars either.

You're exactly right. Send Damon this link: https://www.pay.gov/paygov/forms/formInstance.html?agencyFormId=23779454

Tell him he can "donate" as much as he wants. Let's start with $50 Million Matt.

Exactly. How much money did you donate to the Federal Government, Matt? Here's a link to help you:

And are you tax-sheltering your money in any way? Which deductions are you taking? Hiding money overseas perhaps? Can we speak to your accountant and tax adviser?

Its a good idea, but I bet he considers his campaign contribution to BO a voluntary tax increase. At least, that seems to be consistent with his rationale.

Does anyone else think it would be hilarious to like, twitterbomb him with the link that allows him to donate?
This is assuming he has one.

99% of economists agree that the Bush tax cuts were a failure.

Neocons were saying, at the time, that they would ELIMINATE the debt in 10 years. That didn't happen. Job creation remained slow. Failure. Damon was right. Look up the facts, people.

Link? You didn't make that one up, did you? I hope that you have facts to back up your statement.

Revenue remained well within the historical average under Bush.

And when you factor in state and local taxes, total government revenue was at all time highs.

There is a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

I suggest you look up the facts.
