Obese man weighs 400 lbs and is gaining 20 pounds more per year.
In 5 years he will weigh 500 pounds (5 x 20 + 400)
His wife starts bitching at him, so he promises to go on a diet. He projects to now gain just 15 pounds per year.
In 5 years, he will therefore "only" weigh 475 pounds. Although he will be 75 pounds heavier than he is now, he considers it a 25 pound "cut" because he had been planning to be 500.......500 - 475 = 25 "lost pounds"
