Be very interesting to see which "tea party" reps voted for this. We need to find out who they are and make sure they don't get a second term.

Amash hasn't posted it on facebook yet. I'm sure he'll have it up sooner than later.

He didn't. Here's the roll call vote:

http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2011/roll690.xml

It is Roll Call 690, not 691.

How interesting that Bachmen voted "yea" when she went on tv just before to say she wouldn't vote for it.

She voted no. You're looking at the wrong vote.

Ok, that makes more sense, otherwise that'd be quite the flip flop. Sorry for the mistake

What is the difference between 690

BILL TITLE: To make a technical amendment to the Education Sciences Reform Act of 2002 (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2011/roll690.xml)

and 691?

BILL TITLE: Administration Conference of the United States Reauthorization Act of 2011 (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2011/roll691.xml)

Check out Justin Amash's Facebook page here (http://www.facebook.com/repjustinamash?v=wall). He does a good job explaining the votes.

Roll Call 690 deals with the debt ceiling.

This is what Amash says about Roll Call 691:

Here's the roll call for H R 2480, which reauthorizes the appropriation of funds ($2.9 million for each of FY 2012-2014) for the Administrative Conference of the United States. This independent agency, which makes recommendations for improvements to Congress and federal agencies, has been unfunded for several years. It is not necessary, especially in light of our budget situation. I voted no. The bill passed 382-23.

74 pages - wow!

scanning through this I'm noticing that on a per year basis the budget can only increase - for example, 1.3 T for the global war on terrorism, and another 1.3 T for Medicare, and another 1.3 T for disasters, etc... that's PER YEAR!

Did anyone in Congres actually READ this thing? - and that's on top of the budget increase baseline!

2.4 trillion

Amazing that it's taken us about 80 years to get 14.6 Trillion in debt and Obama wants to get us another 2.4 Trillion in debt in a single year....

georgiaboy

Utterly disgusting to see some members of the Georgia Republican delegation supporting this, spinning it as a good thing. Terrible, terrible. May they all be primaried and sent home. The list of shame grows.

2.4T additional debt authorized on top of the 14.5T already there, so that makes a grand total of 16.9T. Budget increase of $7T over next 10 years. Unreal.
