The Fast Fix: Has Wall Street abandoned Obama?

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/fast-fix/fast-fix-wall-street-abandoned-obama-092307656.html

In the battle for Wall Street campaign cash, Mitt Romney is beating Barack Obama.

Employees at Goldman Sachs, one of Wall Street's most high profile companies, donated nearly $250,000 to the former Massachusetts governor over the past three months. President Obama raised $127,000 from Goldman for himself and the Democratic National Committee over that same period. In 2008 Obama raised more than a million dollars from Goldman, the single biggest corporate donor to his campaign.

The reason for Romney's edge is at least in part due to the relationship he built as a co-founder of Bain Capital, a private equity firm. Romney allies insist his haul is also the result of a discontent within the financial sector toward the policies President Obama has pursued in office -- most notably the stiffer rules for the industry passed last year.

Still, Obama isn't doing too bad among Wall Street types. One in three of his top bundlers -- the men and women collecting hundreds of $2,500 checks for his campaign -- make their living in the financial sector. That's actually an improvement from 2008 when 20 percent of Obama's bundlers worked in the banking and investment sectors.

Romney's success on Wall Street is eye-opening but is probably best understood as the result of his long ties to the financial industry rather than some full-scale revolt from Obama.

No matter the reason, neither Romney nor Obama will spend much time touting their financial support from Wall Street, knowing that the financial industry is about a popular as used car salesmen and journalists these days.

Obama doesn't need to raise much campaign money given he's the incumbent and with virtually no Democratic candidates vying for his position. That makes it more likely for a person like Romney to obtain more fundraising money even from Wall Street.

I am shocked that this kind of information is being reported in a semi-mainstream outlet. Or was this some unknown blogger?

The answer is resounding no. They and other banksters will donate generously to both candidates, and once again, we will have a General election where the choice is between corporatist candidate A or B. (Unless Ron wins.)

Exactly and this article should go viral in combination with that logic. Simply state, "For too long we've been having to choose between the lesser of two evils. Why is it both parties seem bad? Well look at how Romney and Obama are given money by the same organization. They are trying to rig yet another election. Obviously Romney is no different than Obama or they wouldn't be giving two opposing parties donations. Why fund your opponent unless of course they are both on the same side?"

RomneyCare = ObamaCare
MANDATES?!?

C'mon.. why are people voting for this guy? I'm beginning to wonder if his support is completely bullshitted by every news outlet or what, because he was polling high last election too, but when it came down to the real election, he didn't get shit. Or is it people are really falling for it again this time around? Regardless, we NEED to expose these crooks in every way we can. I know Ron doesn't like attacking candidates, but that doesn't mean we can't! We don't need to insult their supporters for believing them, but we at least need to bring articles such as these to their attention so instead of us trying to debate with them to convert them, they read and convert on their own accord (a tactic far more successful)
