Key taxpayer advocate must remain in Washington

ANKENY, Iowa– The 2012 Ron Paul presidential campaign regrets that Senator Rand Paul’s comprehensive Iowa tea party tour is cancelled due to debt ceiling negotiations and likely votes.

“Naturally we understand that Senator Paul is required to be in Washington for a critically important vote on the debt ceiling,” said Ron Paul 2012 campaign Iowa Chairman Drew Ivers. “I’m sure Senator Paul’s supporters are disappointed by not being able to see him due to this postponement, but it is far more important to have a strong taxpayer advocate in the Senate for this crucial vote.”

The junior senator from the Commonwealth of Kentucky was scheduled to rally Iowa voters in advance of the Ames Straw Poll, which will take place on August 13, 2011.

Shame, but hopefully they can reschedule, even if it's only for one day before the Straw Poll.

Besides, Rand needs to get to Iowa. I've a feeling he'll be there a lot in the coming years. ;)

Rand is still going to try to get to Iowa. This is just too important for him to leave DC. He said this last night at the YAL convention.

Rand should go to Iowa. These clowns aren't going to get anything done over the weekend.

*crosses fingers* this is big....having Rand come before Ames is a difference of hundreds of votes. We need him.

We need Rand in a big way.

But you could see how it would sound. "Rand flees Washington during Debt Crisis to campaign for his father." :(

Rand has to do his job.

Could Rand not show up next week, or at least do a rally the night before the straw poll in Ames?

Rand has to do his job.One could argue his job is getting the U.S.A. back on the path to liberty. ;) Helping his father get elected would do more to further that goal than making 1-2 meaningless votes over the weekend. I say "meaningless" because I don't think these incompetents will get anything real done until close to midnight Aug. 2nd, if even then.
