Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) hopes to have his bill written before midnight Tuesday and on the floor Wednesday — observing the letter but not the spirit of a three-day rule before legislation is considered. The Rules Committee, an arm of the speaker’s office and the only panel to inspect the bill, is expected to prevent amendments from both Democrats and Republicans. The White House hasn’t been much more open — Barack Obama promised the most transparent presidency in history, but his negotiations with Hill leaders remain behind closed doors, and the administration hasn’t left much of a paper trail either with its deficit proposals.

So he was technically complying with the 3 day rule, but will he even bother to do this with his re-write bill? Hotair thinks he may not even do that consider that would give critics time to tear his bill to shreds again.

A Twitter pal wondered whether this means they’ll have to break their pledge about waiting three days before taking up legislation. Alas, that one’s already been broken. Supposedly they’re delaying the vote because they’re scrambling to find new savings and rewrite the bill after the CBO score came in too low, but there may be a bigger problem:

This latest push merely guarantees that a "compromise" plan out of necessity will have to be adopted as there will be "no other options" or at least that is how it will be spun by the GOP. The result will be, just as expected, a plan that has been completely and utterly gutted and who only point is to flick the switch allowing not only another $2.5 trillion in debt to be issued, but the long overdue QE3 to be launched.

Because Bernanke has to monetize something.

Nice catch Lucille. I hadn't been thinking about QE3.

You're exactly right.

What's the chances that the Fed has already begun QE3 in secret somehow to keep it hidden until after the debt ceiling passes?

The glorious Fed can print all the money we need. Why even bother with a budget, or a debt ceiling, or taxes for that matter?!
