I actually got a table at a gun show a couple months ago and had one of the best times!

Advice:

1) Get there early and claim your table by putting something there, otherwise it will get taken even though it's supposed to be yours. Also when reserving the table getting them on the phone is hard so best thing to do is just show up as early as possible and stake your claim

2) Bring multiple friends so you can walk around, go to restroom, can watch your table so no one grabs things and walks off, can count your change while your making other transactions, friends helped bigtime and make it more fun plus get in free if they are helpers

3) Big signs, many i saw used pvc pipe to make stands to hold their signs

I am going to do it again, will sell whatever while also wearing my 2012 shirt with flyers while wearing a happy smile might even give a good discount on silver if they agree to put a paul sticker on their vehicle

IDK what that list at the top is from but it didn't have the info for a gun show that I know is going to happen next week in my area:

http://highcalibergunshow.com/Schedule.htm

There's going to be one in Houston at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
And another not so far away in Pasadena-TX on Aug. 27-28

I couldn't find anywhere on their site that shows you how to get a booth but there is a contact email.

There was a banner for a different gun show that will also be in Pasadena on Aug. 6-7
http://www.realgunshow.com/

I still don't see anything showing how to get a booth though.

This IS a good idea. In the 2008 election, Ron Paul had an A+ rating from the NRA and I do believe John McCain had an F rating.

Gun Owners of America (GOA), which some believe is "better" than the NRA, also rates Dr. Paul off the charts in regards to the 2nd amendment, gun ownership and possible federal restrictions.

In a blog I wrote a few months back I said this:

Your Right to Carry/2nd Amendment
I hope you've all read and understand our Constitution and Bill of Rights. The founders of this country were very wise and had good reason to place gun-rights as the 2nd amendment to our Constitution. The true reason for our having the 2nd amendment is to be able to protect ourselves from an oppressive government. Look at the current situation in Libya or Iran, protestors are being gunned downed just for voicing their opinion. The 2nd amendment also allows for Americans to protect their life and their property from criminals. Dr. Paul has an 'A' rating from the National Rifle Association (NRA). Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America (GOA), is quoted as saying "Ron Paul has introduced bills to wipe out most federal gun-control laws. It is pretty hard to get more pro-gun than Ron Paul."

Dr. Paul has been quoted (http://paul.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1053&Itemid=69) on the 2nd amendment saying, "As a United States Congressman, I take my oath to uphold all of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights very seriously. Unfortunately, too many in Washington DC believe they can pick-and-choose which provisions of the constitution they can uphold. For example, many politicians, judges, and bureaucrats believe they have the power to disregard our right to own guns, even though the second amendment explicitly guarantees the people's right to "keep and bear arms." Like the Founding Fathers, I believe that the right to keep and bear arms is fundamental to a free society. Where law-abiding citizens are most freely allowed to defend themselves, communities are safer, while crime rises when law-abiding people's access to firearms is restricted. Gun laws only disarm those who respect the law. Those with criminal tendencies do not turn in their weapons and reform their ways because government bureaucrats enact statutes that tell them to. Gun control laws turn peaceful citizens into sitting ducks for criminals to prey upon. Ironically, one of the most draconian gun laws in the nation is in the nation's capital. Banning guns did not make DC safer. In fact crime in DC rose after the gun ban went into place! "

Romney is going to be an an Iowa gun show over the weekend, as I understand it. I don't think Ron will be there -- of course they know he is absolutely pro gun even if he isn't a 'lifelong varmint hunter'.

If anyone is serious about doing a Ron Paul table at a gun show and wants some RP freebies to pass out, (bumper stickers, Second Amendment Slim Jims, etc) PM me and I'll see if I can get some stuff sent your way. Just make sure there's enough lead time on the request to allow for snail mail delivery!

McCain actively worked on a bill that would have effectively *ended* gun shows.

And Gun Owners of America actually has a Ron Paul quote right next to the logo on the GOA home page: www.gunowners.org
