Can't we just agree that all of these politicians want to raise the debt ceiling when their team is in the oval office, but are against it when it's the other team? It'll save everyone time trying to track down all these quotes.

Of course, there's one guy who's been pretty consistent...

This was probably right before his re-election bid.

He was actually re-elected in 2010, against Sharron Angle, so no, this was two years after he was re-elected in 2004. What he was doing was staying on the given Democratic platform of opposing the Republicans since he was Minority Leader and wanted to stay in that position so he could become Majority Leader. It worked.
