Dont promote traffic to red state. If we replace McConnell though, who should it be? Long term, McConnell has to deal with rand in close proximity. This influence of Rand on Mitch is our ace in the hole on so many levels tah we are not even aware of

"Because... Pepperidge Farm Remembers!"

McConnell is done... the spineless jellyfish revealed his true establishment colors. Remember this aristocrat backed the Rand's GOP opponent in the primaries and organized DC fundraisers for the establishment candidate.

Rand's ascension may have been Mitch's ultimate falling. He simply can no longer impersonate a republican with such a true believer in close proximity to him.

That is cetainly the perception I get from conservatives here in KY. Rand is the disinfecting ray of sunshine that is exposing all of McConnell's dark deeds.

You might have a point here....but Mitch is still ripe for picking. His days may be numbered here, from the impression I get from many KY conservatives I talk to. His debt deal fiasco sealed his fate with many conservatives here in KY.

I do at least have to give Mitch credit for voting for Rand's budget, however. He was one of only 7 Senators to do so.

Oh yeah.

Isn't there precedence for a Senator from KY to resign, and run against another Senator from KY, just to knock them out of the US Senate?

Someone needs too! I'm tempted to pay the money to file(200 bucks I think), just to have a seat in a few debates--especially the KET one that Mitch won't show up for--to blast Mitch relentlessly.

I will pay your filing fee to get you in the debates.

And he voted that way 'cause he knew it would only get 6 other votes.

DeMint.

DeMint.

I highly doubt demint will run for Senate in Kentucky after he retires after this term.

If you meant as GOP Senate leader, then yes, that'd be a good start.

DeMint.

I think there will be martial law before they let DeMint near the GOP leadership. We can dream though.

DeMint isn't as radical as he's perceived to be. He votes with the GOP a grand majority of the time and his few "fringe" views will never pass anyway. All of us have to look at the reality of Mitch McConnell, he's there, and he'll likely be there until he wants out. I can't see Kentucky dumping him. He is the textbook definition of an entrenched incumbent.

I am praying Thomas Massie runs against Mitch. He is a Judge Executive in Lewis Co. KY, knows how to win against the odds, and is a heck of a speaker. Last time I heard him speak, it seemed to me like he was the next Rand Paul. So he's who I'd be MOST excited about campaigning for. The others being bounced around are decent too.

DeMint was slated to retire in 2009 but felt that stopping this oppressive government was "a mission from God." All I know, is that this is good enough motivation for me.

I agree. However, that would be hilarious if Kelley Paul beat him in the 2014 primary...

Uh...are you sure? They were against Grayson in the primary, so why would they support him four years after the fact? I'm thinking Erick will choose someone else.

Hilarious to watch these establishment Republicans--from Bachmann to McConnell to the old pseudo-maverick himself, John McCain--all trying to turn over new libertarian leaves as fast as they can now that they can actually smell the handwriting on the wall. Even Coburn is feeling the heat, and backing off the statement he made to me once upon a time that he is no libertarian.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then they try to usurp your positions.

You know what happens next, don't you..?
