Kansas Charter (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=127524090668576)

The August 13th Iowa straw poll is just a month away. Ron Paul has put considerable emphasis on this key event as he conducts meetings with constituents. It is time for the Revolution to ready the vessels to flood the first major political event of the 2012 cycle. How do we maximize that outcome? Win Ames! Although many of us are not Iowa natives and will not be able to vote we can certainly do our part to participate by building enthusiasm, buzz, and support by attending this years poll.

In Kansas, just South of the border, we have begun that work. So far, it is our goal to fill three charter buses of energetic revolutionaries to descend on August 13th. With more interest, we will fill more buses for our caravan. Like storming Normandy we will have transports to carry us into the heart of Iowa politics. We have identified the staging points in our State to get as many people on board as possible for an all out ride-share. This will certainly reduce costs for everyone, ensure safe travel to the site and back, and create the first Merrill on wheels. We are now putting a call out to all of you to replicate this strategy across the country.

Create and promote events in all major cities. Coordinate with your C4L/YAL and Meetup chapters to fill seats. Consider this our next Revolution March or Rally for the Republic. In keeping with the spirit of this campaign let's break another record this cycle with the most people ever to attend this event!

I'm pretty sure the campaign has advised to NOT do this.

+rep - The campaign has specifically mentioned that they would prefer the grassroots not to organize out-of-staters to come to the straw poll....

yep... don't waste money on this, people from out of state can't vote, there is no point. take the money that would be spent on this and donate it to the campaign

If you have money to do this, you have money to fund identifying and transporting eligible voters. This just plays into the perception that Ron Paul has a wide but thin level of very passionate support and that massive crowds of supporters are all out-of-town/staters.

Please don't do this. If you want to come to something, the upcoming August debate would work. If not, just donate to the official campaign. (There in a Money Bomb coming up on July 19th!)

As much as we all would love to go, please listen to what everyone else had said! Contribute money to the campaign to fund the Iowa Projects, this is the best way we could help right now!! Sign up for phonebanking with the official campaign

Who knows if out of staters can vote.

The rules at these things are notoriously flexible. I'm not opposed to it.

its great you want to help, donate to the projects at www.iowaforronpaul.com instead of making the trip.

No... You can't vote at Ames unless you live in Iowa.

Also, the campaign's reasoning for not wanting out-of-staters to come is because they wont be any help in convincing IOWANS to come our way. They only want locals because they know how to approach other Iowans.

Please rethink this idea, this money could be donated to the campaign or be used later on when people are needed to canvass.

I got a lot of official guidance on this in the last hour. We are regrouping our efforts at this time and coming up with a new strategy to gotv for Paul in Iowa. Clarification from the campaign:

"out-of-state supporters can't attend speeches and will be shut out of the process..."

"out-of-state supporters can help by phone-banking and donating to Iowa projects..."(something we are already doing)

Thanks for your understanding feedback, I have notified our team in the state.

Additionally, YAL members, avoid any and all legal backlash are advised to form Students for Ron Paul groups if they are interested in supporting any further efforts with the campaign in any and all capacity. (citing support in the past being CPAC mobilizations) - from YAL HQ
