Sponsored by the grassroots. This will be a $35,000.00 ad campaign in the Greater Des Moines Broadcast Area. It will be seen in 1/3 of the state over 3 million times.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=jMDuXVX9OmI

We will be getting the raw footage in soon and will edit this ad to reflect his candidacy for President.

Sweet! Nice job.

Question: are you going to use a recent picture instead of that old picture of his run for Congress?

Yes, the music and the pictures will be fixed and made a little more "updated."

Yeah, if it's not paid for by the campaign you can't use that.

Other than that great commercial!

Edit: I'm confused...RE-ELECT Ron Paul??

Edit Edit: "We will be getting the raw footage in soon and will edit this ad to reflect his candidacy for President."

Okay, I get it! But now go back to my first sentence!

He was a congressman. That interview is obviously for congressman, why would we interview a guy from Texas for an ad in Iowa?

This ad is for his house seat.

Did Ron Paul approve the message? The ad says he did, but did he?

This is an old Ron Paul congressional ad, but we'll (my PAC, Xar's PAC, and AdamT's PAC) be reviving it for his Presidential run.

It's not legal for his Congressional campaign & Presidential campaign to co-ordinate together so it would be illegal for the Presidential Campaign to use this ad.

However, according to the VFW guy I talked to on the phone who runs VFW-PAC, as well as the FEC, as long as the PAC is buying the footage from the Congressional campaign (and not the Presidential campaign) and not getting it as a gift, we'll be good to go!!!

I bet Ron Paul would love to re-use this ad, so we'll be doing it for him. Ron Paul's congressional campaign manager is sending us the footage to edit and turn into a Ron Paul for President commercial.

That guy and his message are perfect for rural Iowa. Edit it for the presidential election, and it is a thing of beauty.

$10,000 -- A pledge from a 527 group
$7,000 -- Iowa Meetup group's funds
$17,000 -- My PAC funds (Americans United for Freedom)
$1,000 -- AdamT's PAC funds (American Liberty Coalition)
=
$35,000

My point is that if you are going to run an ad that says Ron Paul approved the ad, you need the campaign to actually approve the ad.

You don't understand. It's not going to say that. It's going to be edited. We can't run an ad saying Ron Paul approved it. We are not the campaign.

Can anyone here read? If so, then read the original post again! It will be edited to fit his Presidential campaign! Anyway, thanks for all of your hard work in getting this ad up and running in a crucial early state, skiingff and everyone who contributed! It'll work great in Iowa! Once again for all of those who are a little slow, IT WILL BE EDITED TO FIT HIS PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN!!!!!!

Well, it may not be flashy like the YouTube ads nor appeal to Ron Paul supporters.

But the focus here is conservative Iowa, and you're 100% correct.

Why reinvent the wheel when we have a T.V. ad here that won Ron Paul many-a congressional elections in a conservative farm district?

After all, Iowa is simply a big conservative farm district :)

That's good in a way. This ad's for Iowans, and for middle to older age.

The vast majority of Iowans who vote are older.

You are young and a Ron Paul supporter.

Of course you aren't going to like it.

KCCI 8, local CBS affiliate
WHO 13, local NBC affiliate
KDSM 17, local Fox affiliate

So no, not cable, because broadcast is very cheap in Iowa ($120 per commercial) and this will reach over 1/3 to 1/2 of the entire state. Over 3 million impressions.

Are you allowed to legally use that footage in an ad?

Good. Those stations are included on local cable, and they can also be seen by anyone with a UHF antenna.

That's good in a way. This ad's for Iowans, and for middle to older age.

The vast majority of Iowans who vote are older.

You are young and a Ron Paul supporter.

Of course you aren't going to like it.

Plus I hate spending money :). When I see 30,000 dollars, I want PERFECTO! :P I'm sure it'll do good though.

it's clear that this is an OLD congressional ad (paid for by the committee to RE-ELECT Ron Paul?)

Yes, as previously stated, it's going to be edited for this Presidential election. It's going to be edited and the edited version will be available on Nov. 5.

Another question was if this is legal. Yes, it is.

Is there an option to start this ad, say by 05 November? How fast can we get the edit? Bless you for this effort. This is the race of our lives, can we get it up within days? Please

Why 52% of Iowan Republican should support Ron Paul

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Check out this poll of 600 Republicans in Iowa

4. Do you favor a withdrawal of all United States military from Iraq within the next six months? (Republicans Only)
Yes 52%
No 39%
Undecided 9%

Who is the only Republican Presidential Candidate to offer a withdrawal of all united States military from Iraq within the next six months?

Ron Paul

If you are filming a commercial for Iowa then this definately should be mentioned.

I actually think this ad is better than most because many people know Ron Paul is against the war, but it shows that soldiers are in his corner.

I think we need more Vets for Paul ads to air.

Please make sure to change the phone number...The one listed goes to his congressional office. I know that there was editing to be done, however, that is one oversight that could potentially slip through.

This is a very positive ad for Ron Paul, but it seems really out of place for a Presidential ad. I think any ad for Ron Paul needs to reflect his positions for his role as President, not Congressman. Though I guess it couldn't hurt and it's your money. Thanks for doing this by the way.

What if the primary is December 6th? Then you will have wasted almost 1/3rd of your money...

There should be an updated video from veterans of today and the past.

It is a great start especially for Ron Paul name recognition.

I think it would be better if you added some other facts about Paul's record or views that would be appealing to voters. I think this makes him sound like a good guy, but it doesn't really make him seem that different and appealing.

I think it would be cooler if there was some bikini clad girls in high heels dancing in it. And dollar bills falling from the sky but when they hit the ground they burned up and melted into an image of the federal reserve and a pyramid with the eye above it. And Nine inch Nails music. And Vampires and explosions. Then it would be better.

Good rough draft though.

Maybe a link to the official campaign site could be added into the video as well.
