“We want to make sure it’s even more secure, so to back up what we think is a very good proposal from our Secretary of State (Matt Schultz), we will require you to show a photo ID, proving that you are an Iowa resident,” Strawn said during the interview with Conway.

This is new, so we have to make sure people don't forget! The campaign should put it into their materials.

Not necessarily if they aren't the driver. And students will presumably need their IOWA student ID if their home and driver's license goes somewhere else. And they might not think to have that, in the summer.

It doesn't say anything about Iowa students.. I hope they're still accepting Iowa Student ID's!! These students could reside out of state, but fly / get bused back to cast votes in the poll.

They would have to do so. After all, being an Iowa student is a legit alternative to being a resident.
That said, I usually always had my college IDs on me, even in the summer.

Yeah, most students carry them because of discounts that are often available to students elsewhere.

I actually carried them, because I never saw a reason to take them out of my wallet. ;)

I sometimes just shove cash in my pocket, if I'm not driving. I guess I'm the minority.

I have done that before. Recently, I found two dollars doing my laundry. The IDs I usually give a little more consideration.

Supposedly the buses will not allow people on without a valid Drivers license or student ID.

good idea. Well, it should be picture id whatever the requirement from the straw poll is. Some people can't drive. I'm sure Ron would still transport blind voters, for example.
